One of the first arguments out of everybody's Anti-Sony mouth when Blu-ray was announced was "Betamax 2" or some similar drivel about the past repeating. Since Blu-ray is still topping the charts, a trend that started with its inception, it's starting to get hard to make that claim. Enter this ad for Blu-ray, which gleefully mocks Sony's past failures while at the same time giving the nod to Blu-ray and the shaft to HD DVD. It's cute, really. Check it out. link

| FYI, blu-ray dominating the charts wasn't since inception. HD DVD (launched earlier) did have the lead for a little bit after blu-ray launched as well. Blu-ray has been on top every single week in 2007, not 2006.
HD DVD had the lead in PQ/SQ averages as well last year for a bit, but now blu-ray takes the cake in that aspect as well.

I for one am not willing to spend money for the drive but would buy the movies if it was built in. Last I checked install base on 360's was much much higher, and I know everyone who is like me would buy at least one or two HD DVD's

At least they dont make you buy a remote to watch dvd's anymore that was a fiasco.

But the install base would be much lower since if they included the Hd DVD drive, the price for the system would have been much, much higher.

Max DTS is nice, but something has to be lost in the conversion. There is a difference in overall dynamic range when comparing the converted DTS to the same track using DD+ 1.5Mbps/24-Bit.
