Rumor: Rumbling Sixaxis Confirmed At TGS?

Next to the Final Fantasy VII PS3 remake rumor, the rumbling Sixaxis controller is the biggest ongoing rumor of the year. You just can't kill this one, as more evidence continues to pop up in the face of Sony denials. It seems an inside source has said Sony is now supporting rumble for the PS3 controller according to the latest System Development Kit they sent to developers last Thursday (source: Pro-G).

A System Development Kit is just what it sounds like: it's like an electronic toolbox given to programmers, which allows them to develop applications for a specific platform. If the latest SDK does indeed include the rumble support option, it won't come as a shocker to everyone; Immersion and Sony have long since resolved their differences. After all, they've probably been waiting for the appropriate time and venue to make the announcement...

And what better time and place to make such an announcement than this week at the Tokyo Game Show? Is it only a coincidence that developers receive this newly revamped SDK less than a week before the start of gaming's biggest event of the year? We think not. We think Sony will finally spill the beans on the rumbling Sixaxis at TGS, and this will be verified or shot down again within the next few days.

This also comes hot on the heels of the upcoming 2.0 update.

Sweet. Not for gaming but Richard Casey, President of RBFilms (Chronos and Nature's Journey of blu-ray and HD DVD) said DTS Master audio lossless will be working on the PS3 as well in the future.. No time frame given though.

Hopefully the addition of rumble will add some weight to the controller. I was surprised that if was so light.

Ok, i dont get it, whats so great about rumbling, in the past its been so completely aggravating that I immediately turn it off for any game I play.

I like the tactile feedback of rumbling. When it is done right in a game it can add an entirely new measure of gameplay. Are you being hit (rumble), are your wheels about to lose traction in Forza 2 (rumble), etc. I like it. I also think the PS3 controllers could use some more weight. They do seem a bit light.

lmao brewster lad I just dont diss the six axis cus its been bad in a few games! Gotta remember not every game is good, no console has perfect games all round, allways you crap ones and good ones, the six axis works good, AND bad dependant on the game and how the devs use it. simple as folklore is ace i love the axis in it.

It was more of a global thing than aimed at one person. It's a running joke because a poll done recently had many people saying they didn't even know it could play Bluray movies.

As of Monday, I have no PS3 games (traded Resistance).

I'm thinking about trading Resistance as well which is the one PS3 game I own. I think it comes down to the fact that the console was built for adults (i.e. price, features)... And the controller was built for kids. It truly is the most uncomfortable and light game controller I have played with. I always feel like I'm going to break it.
