PS3 Question

I just bought a PS3! Sweet! I can't wait for it to come.

Are my old PS2 controllers going to work on this thing?

Not without a PS1/2 to USB adapter.

From what little I've read it should more or less work. Though I wouldn't suggest using them for PS3 games. Wouldn't really suggest using them for PS2 games either.. unless you can't play it without rumble for some reason.

Like jagger says, you need a adapter, Personally though I love the ps3 controllers, if you use a ps2 you'll loose the motion sensing, most games include a bit of it to be used. And the l2 r2 triggers are alot better than ps1/2 controllers.

I have the PS3 and a couple of PS2 games. I never owned a PS2. All the games I played, I use the PS3 controller, and it worked fine. I would suggest trying the PS3 controller before buying some adapter.

Just remember, no rumble with the PS3 controller. I used to play Dragon Warrior 8, TT Superbikes, and Final Fantasy 12 demo. It will ask if you want to emulate the PS2 controller.

Not all games were backwards compitable. I think the PSN forums have a list of the games. I'm not sure if it that work or the don't work.

Theres a thread somewhere with a link to the PS site which allows you to put in ps2 game titles, and all related games come up with either capable,or uncapable with the ps3.
