This game rocks but man do I suck at flying and dog fights, haha but it is fun
The audio on this game is absolutely awesome! Firing the turrents (missiles, anti-aircraft gun), sniper rifles all have such an impacting sound. Warhawks flying overhead and around all sound great!
The graphics look pretty dam good considering the scope of the maps that have very impressive draw distances. The ground textures are definitely better than I thought they would be from the videos. The character models are adequate as well as the tanks and jeeps being basic but doing the job. The Warhawks (two styles as far as I can tell) look great. The animations for the missile turrents while reloading look fantastic. Missiles have nice smoke trails and there is a subtle heat destortion from the warhawk is another nice touch.
The controls on the Warhawkw have a learning curve aned I'm still working on it. Basically the triangle button toggles from hover mode on or off. Everything is extremely tight and responsive just need to master it.
Originally I thought I wanted to do mostly airfighting but man it is fun having access to everything on the ground as well as turrents. Feels like an actual war is going on when in the larger rooms (up to 32 people). All lag free last night so far. I played mostly on SCEA servers and one small game with others. Somehow I got a couple of awards, one for using the tow missle and another for killing a few from one of those super heavy anti-aircraft guns despite get slaughtered most of the time. Do not fly straight for the enemy base at the beginning of a match
FYI, I don't think sharing works as I used another account on my PS3 and it wouldn't let me play
Also, I'm wondering if it will let me do a local lan game if the internet connection is removed, I'm thinking not. So it might be better to get the retail blu-ray version. I get my internet from my neighbor and I think he did something as at the end of the night I couldn't play and I didn't have internet on my PC either. Something about a DSN error. In the morning I checked again and it was fine..
