E3 2007: Killzone 2 Official Press Release

You've probably already seen the E3 trailer for Killzone 2 (which also hits the PlayStation Store tomorrow at 3 p.m.), and along with it, Guerilla/Sony have issued the offiical press release.

In it, they say the game will release on the PS3 in 2008, but they're not any more specific than that. They do outline the full atmosphere and environment of the hotly anticipated title, though, saying we'll be experiencing events that take place after the original Killzone. They're also quick to point out the bonuses: "incredibly lifelike character animations, highly detailed and destructible environments, realistic physics, and advanced levels of artificial intelligence (A.I.)."

The game was unveiled in an exclusive press event just recently, and as of now, it seems like every gamer on earth is talking about Killzone 2. Sony is well aware of rising expectations for the game, and are fully confident this one will deliver the goods in spades.

“There have rightly been high expectations for Killzone 2 since we shared the vision for the title back in 2005,” said Phil Harrison, president, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios. “Guerrilla have worked hard to focus the power of PLAYSTATION 3 to realize their true vision for the game. With incredible action, drama-fueled gameplay sequences, and a vast array of weapons and vehicles, Killzone 2 defines a new benchmark of our industry.”

Lastly, the release talks about an "extensive, story-driven single-player mode" and a "host of new elements that cater to both hardcore and casual gamers alike." One of the more interesting details centered on the description of the harsh environment, which the player must adapt to in order to survive. And check out these final comments regarding the amazing technology implemented in Killzone 2:

"Proprietary tools and technology such as deferred rendering techniques are implemented to create advanced effects, such as ultra-vivid and detailed character animations and environments. Advanced cinematic effects are used to provide unprecedented visuals, including motion blur, internal lens reflections, and depth-based color grading that will let players experience gameplay that is sharp, detailed, and vibrant."

...excited yet? You damn well should be.

GoatMother will become famous soon enough

Yes, the game looks so fluid, great character models and lighting. Drawback poor ground textures but not enough to offset how well everything else looks.
