When is it supposed to be released? If it's pre-pre Alpha like one of it's developers stated I don't see how it could be finished this year.

Based on the people who attended the event last night it looked very early in development. There were pauses that made it seem very early. They also didn't even hint at a release date. Perhaps they will mention something during the press conference (starting now), but we'll see.

2008? At least MS said all their titles shown, excpet one, were scheduled to be released this year.

Well based on history what they say and what happens don't always add up. Gears of War didn't quite make launch window as they said, plenty of other examples on both sides.

So they aren't showing any future games for the 360 then at E3? Honestly that has been what E3 was all about, not just showing near future releases. I'm hoping Sony shows more than games we already had info about.

I rocked pretty hard during the press conference. They claimed all in game footage and it looked like it. The transitions between cut scenes and gameplay were sweet and seamless. I was impressed. The screen has no HUD so there is not a slew of crap on screen to detract from the experience, etc. I'm excited for this one!

I couldn't watch most of the movie (at work) but this is what the PS3 needs. This could end up being what Gears was to the 360. It's good that they're taking their time with this though, since it'll give them more time to utilize the hardware.

Let's just remember how much the first Killzone was hyped also. It really doesn't have a good pedigree going for it. It does look nice though. I like the grittiness. I wish Halo 3 was a tad more gritty, like my clams.

Good points but the first KZ never had gameplay footage that looked as good as KZ2 relative to its generation. We'll know in 2008 how it turns out but they definitely surprise me with how well the footage looked at E3.
