TeamXbox contacted Microsoft regarding these PS3 developments, and a spokesperson indicated that comment would be forthcoming. We’ll be sure to pass it along when we receive it.

I guess we'll get a confirmation at E3(?). I personally don't see the point in this. $100 for 20gb and a copy of Motorstorm? If it turns out to be true, it's pretty retarded.

So 20 extra gigs and a game for $100 over the 60GB version? I don't think so. What a rip off! They should have brought back the 20GB version and ssold it for $399.

Hopefully MS will lower the 360 quickly. I just bought an Elite and still have 20 days for me to do a pricematch. $80 would be great but $50 is probably more realistic.

Truth! 200gb model was what I was expecting, but $100 extra for a soon-to-be greatest hits title and 20gb of HD space is a rip-off.

And fix the god damn chrome Sony!! Flat black looks way better!

Hmm... With the Canadian dollar so close to the USD hopefully they match the price in both countries. Right now it is at $679.99 at one of the stores locally.

Also it will probably be a few months at the earliest before Microsoft lowers their price... Just my guess from their past with the Xbox / PS2 / GC.

In short $100 for 20GB and $60 game is a rip, just not nearly as big of a rip as $100 for 20GB's alone. Perhaps that is the angle Sony is going with on the limited edition run considering MS has sold some HDD's.

I like the chrome. I'm still surprised by this as I didn't think they were going to drop it so soon. I guess having the 80gb version is the reason. Strange.

They probably should have packed Resistance and Motorstorm then it would sell pretty well most likely. I guess the good news is that if you have to go wireless the 60gb version is the same price as a xbox360, and has blu-ray playback, HDMI, and a bigger HD. A better deal IMO.

It has been really, really good to see both MS and Sony admit their mistakes within a week of each other, although Sony's mistake only hurt them. Another good step for MS would be to hire a call center that employs people whose primary language is English for their U.S. customer service. I have pretty decent communication skills and it still takes me explaining my situation four to five times before I can be sure that they understand what I am saying.

I see it's already showing up as $499 at Bestbuy and Circuit City. Plus at Circuit City you get an extra free wireless controller. The PS3 also qualifies for the 5 free movies with any BD player purchase. A pretty good deal for $499 except for the silver strip on the front of the unit.
Now if MS will just hurry and lower their price!

They have over 2 million 60GB versions sitting around that they need to move. Once those run out I wouldn't be surprised if the 60GB version disappears.
