Network Settings for Remote Play Outside the Home

I have been looking for reasons to buy a PSP and with the recent price drop I started looking into what features I could take adavantge of using an PSP and PS3 in conjunction. After reading this information remote play took on a whole new meaning. Playing the PSP on my property was something I might use once (kind of like a Roomba) and is a neat trick, but nothing Earth shattering. Being able to jump on a WI-FI network and access my PS3 at home...that is cool. The page accessed link below has a a lot of other useful information as well:

Network
Using remote play outside the home (via the Internet)
Using your PSP® system and a wireless access point (such as that found through a commercial wireless hotspot (wireless LAN) service), you can connect to the PS3™ system that is located within your home via the Internet. To use remote play from outside your home:
· you must first pair the PSP® system and PS3™ system (a one-time procedure). For instructions on pairing the systems, refer to the user's guide for the PSP® system.
· you must sign in to PLAYSTATION®Network from the PS3™ system and place the PS3™ system in remote play connection standby mode.
PS3™ system in remote play connection standby mode

Notes
· To use this function, the PSP® system software must be version 3.50 or later.
· To use remote play over the Internet, you must have a PLAYSTATION®Network account.
· You may not be able to use remote play via the Internet in some network environments. For details, see (Network) > (Remote Play) > [Using remote play (via the Internet)] in the user's guide for the PS3™ system.
· The method of using a commercial wireless hotspot (wireless LAN) service and the charges for such use vary depending on the service provider. For details, contact the service provider. Users are responsible for any connection fees.
· For more information on the remote play feature, refer to the user's guide for the PS3™ system.
Creating a network connection
Create a network connection for connecting the PSP® system to an access point. When connecting to an access point that you've used before, you do not have to create a new network connection to use remote play. For more information about network connection using an access point, refer to (Settings) > (Network Settings) > [Infrastructure Mode] in the user's guide for the PSP® system.

Using remote play
1. Select (Sign In) under (Friends) in the PS3™ system's home menu.
To use remote play over the Internet, you must sign in to PLAYSTATION®Network.
2. Select (Remote Play) under (Network) in the PS3™ system's home menu.
The system will enter remote play connection standby mode and your sign-in ID will be displayed.
3. Select (Remote Play) under (Network) in the PSP® system's home menu.
4. Select [Connect via Internet] as the method of connecting to the PS3™ system.
5. From the list of connections, select the connection for the access point to be used for remote play.
6. Enter the PLAYSTATION®Network sign-in ID and password for the account in use on the PS3™ system.

If the connection is successful, the PS3™ system screen will be displayed on the PSP® system.
Notes
· To connect the PSP® system to a PS3™ system and use remote play from a location outside the home, the PS3™ system must be set in remote play connection standby mode as described in step 2.
· When using this feature while leaving your PS3™ system unattended, your PLAYSTATION®Network account and personal account information can be accessed. To avoid inadvertent disclosure, please keep your PS3™ system in a secure location.

It looks like you can DL about 5 or 6 (off the top of my head I know 3 of them are Crash Bandicoot, Cool Boarders, and Hot Shots) titles for $5.99 each that are cross playble with both Platforms. I may have to pick up a PSP tonight and try this out. Apparently you can DL the game, play it on the PS3, transfer it to the PSP and pick up where you left off. If anyone here has a PSP and PS3 I would love to find out how well this actually works.

If so I will be buying a wireless access point and installing it at work...
