| What issues/problems have you had with your PS3? Aside from its inability to upscale games to 1080 (currently anyway), we likely have all had some issues with setting up or using our PS3s. Issues such as random slow downs on Blu-ray movies which can be fixed by turning off internet access while watching may not be known by everyone.
We are interested in learning what problems you have had with your PS3 so that we can try to solve them and then compile the solutions into neat packages for people who might have similar issues.
Think back to when you were first setting up your PS3. Did you find it easy to set up your online profile? Were you able to add a comment bubble with information you wanted to pass on? Were you able to easily start up a slideshow?
I put these questions up not to limit the issues we all have had, but to get you thinking about problems or issues that you have experienced in the past relating to your PS3.
If you had a problem and were able to correct the issue, how did you fix it?
Even if you were not able to fix the issue, post the problem you had anyway. Someone here might have an answer or a fix for you.
The issues you post may be simple or complex. Please do not limit them simply because you think you might look dumb. For example, when I bought my HDMI cable for the PS3, I ordered the wrong length (too short). I didn't take into account how high it was from where it needed to be plugged into the TV and receiver.
There are many issues that some of us have experienced that we now take for granted that are very new to others. Think back to when you were first setting up your PS3 on your network, did you face any problems? What information would you have liked to have known then that you know now?
So please start brainstorming!!

| Any of the issues that I've had with the system have been resolved via firmware upgrades! Sony!!
Random pausing during movies, proper video levels (BTB & WTW), upscaling, background downloading, etc.
I know they are working on accessing the XMB during games and such, so I am lookin' forward to that!

| No real problems except for no 1080i. But of course there is no way to fix that from our end. | |

| can't get NAT 2 via wireless. Can't even get the PS3 to connect via a wire lan connection.
Neither has been resolved. I didn't work on the wire Lan connection because the system will be utlimately be in another room that can only connect via wireless. I probably need to put the PS3 in the DMZ, but that may be a bigger pain since I do have to do that in both the router and smoothie. My solution will be to use a second router for gaming systems, which the router is in the smoothie DMZ. I haven't gotten the router to do this.
My big problem, no frickin' games, that I play, worth $60. There are only three games worth a crap--Resistance, Motorstorm, and Tekken 5. Don't like run and gun (Resitance), complete suck at fighting games where you have to use button and joy stick move combinations (tekken), and motorstorm isn't deep enough to warrent $60.
I didn't like I had synce the wifi blu ray remote. It wasn't intuitive I had to do that. I had to read the instructions. DAMN YOU SONY!!!!!!

My problem with the console is no games. However, I just picked up Oblivion and MLB The Show 07 and I'm thoroughly enjoying these. My next 2 purchases will be Ninja Gaiden and Lair.
It's whisper quiet compared to the lawnmower 360 and the hardware stability surpasses the box. So overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase even though most of the AAA titles have been delayed and won't be out till later in the year.

| the loosing the connection can have several culprits. How strong a signal does your access point give, how strong is the PS3 signal, walls and other objects between the PS3 and the access point, and anything that may be creating interference in the wireless signal.
I haven't had an issue with connecting the PS3 wireless. Then again, it's only been about 6 ft from the access point. I'm not worried about the my access point signal, since I get a "very good" signal when I'm on my laptop in the backyard; my access is by the front door which is a good 50ft away and going through about three to four walls.

The PS3 just seems to drop every once in awhile it isn't a big deal because I only use it to cure cancer. It isn't like I have any games to play on it. It is my only compaint and I can't say it is a big issue. I just find it odd it can't recover cleanly.
