Over 75% Of PS3 Owners With HDTV Only Use SD

According to an impromptu, unofficial survey conducted by the Las Vegas Review Journal, consumers were asked at stores like Wal-Mart, BestBuy, and EB Games if they had both a PS3 console and an HDTV unit. Those who owned both were then asked what resolution they were running the console in. Surprisingly, most just answered that they used the cables the PS3 was packed in with, which means 480p max for you HDTV/PS3 laymen out there. Sony really needs to cut the crap and get in gear to make the PS3 "idiot-proof."

Nice..spend $600 on a system, and whatever on an HDTV, but can't spend $40 on the component cable for the PS3 or whatever the cost on the HDMI cable.

I've got my connected via the s-video cable because my monitor doesn't have component in, and the PS3 doesn't have VGA cable. It will be connected via the component cable when I returned the 55" HDTV.

SDTV image totally blows compared to the HDTV signal. My buddy has a PS3 connected via the HDMI cable, and the images don't even come close to each other.
