We've known about Lair for quite a while, and new PS3 owners were treated to a pretty sweet-looking trailer via PlayStation Store download last year. Of course, there was no gameplay in that trailer, but that's okay...for now. And after Factor 5 spoke with Game Informer regarding the game at this year's D.I.C.E. event, the game isn't too far off. Apparently, the team is already into the last stage of development, and that's all about tweaking and optimization. We can't wait!
"Basically, by all definitions, pretty much everything is there," said Factor 5's co-founder and president Julian Eggebrecht. "Now it's optimization and really getting the difficulty curve right and really getting everything tweaked right. All of the systems are there. All of the unlocking-everything is there."
Eggebrecht went on to say the game is about "80-90% complete," but the last stages are always the toughest. At this point, they expect the game to be ready for the summer, although the team still won't provide an exact release date. We'll be looking forward to the high-flying medieval-style entertainment, and sincerely hope it turns out to be a worthy addition to the PS3's software lineup.
