Sony: PS3 Is Better Than Xbox 360

PlayStation 3 better than Xbox 360 in many ways

PS3 is not only a better machine than Microsoft's Xbox 360, but Sony has a better business model as well, says Jack Tretton, CEO and President of Sony Computer Entertainment America.

"I think we've got a better machine PlayStation 3, I think we've got a better business model, and I think we're going to win in the long term. I'm extremely pleased that we're selling more PS2 units than they are [360 units]. That's something that quite frankly surprised me," he declared in the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly.

"But while early indicators are not completely irrelevant, you can't completely ignore them, and I'd be a little concerned if I were them. On the other hand, what concerns me is if the Xbox 360 is being rejected, are the consumers on board with [next-generation] technology and is there enough [demand] there."

It's lines like the one above that turn me off about Sony as a company. The PS3 is a good product; I wish they would just run with the strengths of their product or at least pick on things that they actually do better than MS instead of resorting to this kind of hyperbole.

I still like Sony products, I just don't like the company. I've never seen so many lies/bull spewed out of a company before.

Sony's CEO should run for President. I actually think there is less politics in the White House than Sony's press room.

I bet they also failed to mention that Sony's PS2 and Wii both out sold the PS3 this month in Japan.
