Okami

This is the first PS2 game I've been tempted by since Guitar Hero, but I may just have to get it.

I've been dying for a good action/adventure game anyway, and this thing is tearing up the reviews. 9.0 on Gamespot, 9.1 on IGN...and tons of even better ratings.

So has anyone actually played this, or has a friend who has? Does anyone actually own a PS2 anymore?

Seriously, I may be grabbing this one tonight.

This doesn't have anything to do with Gamespheres or Towlie, does it?

Bad joke. That looks interesting. What is it like?

The reviews are all I've read/seen, but it's an adventure type game involving Japanese folklore.

Evidently, it's just perfectly done. The graphics look like a moving painting, and the gameplay seems to be pretty flawless. Gamespot said it takes around 30 hours to finish, and that's not because you have to backtrack or get stuck or anything like that. It's just 30 hours of adventure.

The Gamespot video review is seriously the best place to find out about this one. But I've also talked to some other friends who are claiming "Game of the Year" honors, hands down.

I think I'll be grabbing it tonight.

I forgot I was playing tennis tonight, so it might have to be tomorrow night. But I'll post in here when I grab it.

I've been trying to decide what game to get next, and I truly didn't think it would be a PS2 title, but it looks like this one is just too good to miss.

This game is the shiznet, plain and simple.

Finally scored my copy yesterday, and man, it was tough to stop playing. It beat NFL football. It beat a good movie. Hell, it even beat the writing I was supposed to be doing. I ended up logging in over 5 hours of play, and trust me, it didn't feel like it.

It's hard to describe this game adequately, but at it's core, it is truly a wonderful adventure tale. I can see the Zelda comparisons, but doing so cheapens the fresh experience Okami provides. The best thing to say is go get it and see for yourself. Just know that you won't be wasting your money at all. This puppy is beautiful, addicting, enchanting, and fun as all get out.

What the hell are you still reading for?? GO!
