Speaking of Resistance...

An acquaintance on a bike forum(I disowned him as a friend when he admitted to waiting outside for 7 hours to get one) said Resistance is nothing but a CoD 2 with a different art direction. He said it moves very smooth but as for being a reason to buy the system, he did an abrupt 180 on that thought and is selling it on ebay(the game).

Another game like CoD 2 isnt terrible by a long shot but if thats the only game that got hype for the systems launch(which is what happened)....Ouch

Brew, how's the controller's wireless sync? I have been reading reports of the controller losing it's connection to the PS3 often.

Perfect thus far. I never even heard of that problem. The only real prob is when you watch a BD movie and try to play a game, there is no sound. A quick restart fixes that.

Yes, Brew... I'm excited to hear more about it. It's seems to still be a big mystery. I don't forum hop, so I haven't heard much of anything abouts it. At least it didn't freeze!!

Did you get a chance to try Resistance online?

No. Maybe I'll try it tonight after the in laws. One thing that sucks about the controls for that is that you have to hold the crouch button to stay crouched- I like the COD2/3 way easier.

Ah yes... Halo is like that too. I think they should give you the option to choose which.

I take back what I said earlier about R:FOM- this game looks great and looks awesome for a launch game. I would venture to say it looks better than any 360 launch game. The only part that sucks is the beginning where you're on the ship- the water looks gay as hell.

I really thought the menu system would be awesome. From what you and others are saying, the interface Sony developed for the PSP seems to be great on the PS3. That's cool.

You have the 2005 Sony 1080p SXRD correct? How does the PS3/SXRD combo look via HDMI? No connectivity issues I am assuming? I would expect the best, this is my primary motivating factor for someday owning the PS3.

Yeah. Talladega looked better than DVD, lots detail on faces and stuff. Bought 'Little Man' yesterday and was let down. It seemed like a regular DVD. I'm sure it will get better as the time goes by. Netflix is sending a few my way, like Superman, and I'll have more to talk about (hopefully) next weekend.

That's what I have been expecting from Blu-Ray discs. There have been complaints that Sony's conversion is very inconsistent. That's very, very worrying to me.

Brew, look at the background in dark scenes. I saw a "blurray" demo at best buy and I couldn't tell if it was the display of the blu-ray format that looked off. There seemed to be a lot of "noise" in the background.

I would really like feedback from a user.

I just finished RFOM- awesome game!! Outstanding for a launch game.

The MP was pretty fun, just not as much without a headset of sorts.
