That's what it sounds like. But then again, they've been saying this for a long time. I personally think it will happen eventually, but how soon it will happen is anyone's guess. Where's my DTS-MA decoding?

Both of those two are very important. Going from the DTS-core to the DTS-HD MA in movies made a pretty big improvement. Those who haven't experienced it will be in for a real treat.

I honestly can't wait to watch Pan's Labyrinth again, as well as Die Hard 4 with DTS-MA decoding. I was going to pick up a BD30 for bitstreaming purposes, but I've heard of problems when streaming TrueHD tracks. I'll stick with the PS3 for now, unless someone gives me a BD30 for free. $300-$400 is a waste on Bluray player when I already have a pretty kickass one.

Still, I wish that PCM tracks were a requirement, even if they do take up more space. No special decoding needed and everyone can benefit!

The TrueHD problems only have come up since the last firmware update. wasn't a problem before. They're working on a fix, so I am not too worried.

The PS3 definitely is a great blu-ray player. I've recommended it on plenty of occasions.

I'm with you, I hardly play games on the PS3 because so many of them are knocked down to 480p on my "ancient" (2.5 years old) Mits RPTV that only accepts component 1080i. BD Movies look great, but only a handful of games support 1080i. Come on Sony, hurry up already with this simple patch!

I know the Haze demo would only play in 720p last night. No luck on 1080i. Can't 100% confirm it doesn't work on games, though. It was a demo and could have been coded that way.
