PreGameLobby - FFXII

I know I know, it's the era of High Definition, but thought I'd post on this game and see if any others are playing.

Not going to touch my 360 until this game is beat, had a 7 hour session today right after receiving the game. hehehe.

Really liking the storyline and the gameplay so far. The new battle system is a lot of fun and lots of paths to tweak your party members. The graphics are pretty decent for PS2, I wouldn't give them a 10 though like some websites. Seeing a bunch of jaggies and such, but having so much fun I don't even notice them now. One con for me is the camera drives me nuts, even though you can spin it, it spins out of control making it hard to get your bearings.

Will post more comments once I'm deeper into the game, playing this thing with no instruction manual as it's an online rental so still have some learning to do.

I am really wanting to get this, I have been a big fan of the FF series, am glad that it seems like its really good!!

I have it, but haven't opened it yet. I'm making myself finish Okami before I open this one. It's certainly motivating me to finish Okami though.

man, I used to be a Final Fantasy fiend... this makes me miss not having a PS2...

Aye, I'm glad I kept my PS2 and sold the original Xbox instead. First Okami, now this. PS2 is still putting out some nice games to fill the voids.

Hehe, what are your impressions OnoMan? Sucking your life away like it is mine? Am 28 hours into the game now and haven't changed my opinion, this game is fun!

Only figured out this morning what the Quickenings are, man those would have come in handy for some of the old bosses. But I prevailed over them anyways.

Spending a bunch of time leveling all the chars up so they are even, not sure if I need to do this or just concentrate on three? What do you think?

Poor Xbox360 will collect dust until this is beat.

So Far I like I think I am only 3 hours in I wasn't home that much on Sunday so I didn't get too play it. But I like it so far, just still adjusting to the new battle system. The funny thing was Sat night I went to Best Buy to get a new 360 game and ended up buying FFXII and the new Evanescence cd!!LOL What are the quickenings?? maybe I haven't gotten that far yet.

I know this I am glad they didn't go to another online thing like they did with 11, I tried Everquest once and the people were just annoying!!LOL I definitely say its a must have for people who like rp's!!

X-Play gave it 5 outta 5! Funny thing is they usually hate FF. Glad to see such a good game at the end of a systems life cycle.

40 hours in right now, trying to play when I can. I recently spent a couple hours just assigning licenses and gambits and upgrading equipment on everyone. Right now I have all 6 chars at level 29.

The level of detail in this game is just outstanding. From backgrounds to the people / monsters. And the voice acting is very well done, something about Fran's accent that I just like.

Some of the boss / hunt fights are pretty crazy too, I swear I was fighting one boss for like 10 minutes. Gives you a sense of accomplishment once you beat them.

I am only about 10 hours in, that stupid Queen Mimic thing was giving me fits. I had to go all the way back and buy the Blizzard from that guy and go all the way back.

I got the game yesterday, came out eysterday too in UK. Tis fantastic! The new battle system works so surprisngly well, makes it less tedious without the random battles.

I just haven't got a clue how to flee battles' R2 does nothing. :S

I've had this game for a while but, I dunno what it is... I just can't seem to get into it!!!!

I keep trying to pick it back up, only playing for half an hour to an hour here and there.

I thought I'd really like this one...

That seems odd, but maybe it just doesn't fit your playstyle? How far along are you? As you get a few hours under your belt, the game just gets better and better. More skills / spells and customizing your party's gambits. I was the opposite playing this game, trying to put it down for a half hour was killing me.

I actually went back and replayed FFX after I was done with this. It's damn close, but I think FFX is the better game. The boss battles were much better designed, you actually had to use some skill and planning of your moves.

I'm about 10 hours into it. I dunno, I forget how slow things start out for Final Fantasy games. Like, I remember FF7 and the whole Midgar bit at the beginning was just so dang tedious. I know that once I get more into it, it will get better, FF games never fail me in that aspect, it's just, do I have the attention span to wait?

I'll continue to play through it more and more.
