HoT: SoS Round 1 Discussion

Two rounds and a total blast. The 50 minute 2 flag CTF on Last Resort was a great (I love long matches), although I'm going to be honest, I don't like Rocket Race (personal preference, mind you). In the end, I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of this tourney. I'm going to post some pics tomorrow.

Ah the simple joys of back seat melee'ing

I rode in the passenger seat of the 'goose and hit Causedawg repeatedly. It was fun since I had run out of rockets and wasn't the VIP.

Also, a note to the LMS team. I'm sorry if you got the impression I was dropping the flag repeatedly to rub in that I had stolen your flag on Valhalla. That's an old Halo trick to speed up flag recovery. Since you run slower with the flag, you toss it and then run at normal speed, pick it up and toss it again. The unfortunate side effect is that the announcer spams the channels with "flag dropped. flag stolen." Sorry if it annoyed you, I didn't intend for it to do so.

ok- even though i would usually tend to want to post a bitch, because my game was absolutely terrible last night, i have to say it was definately really fun!

i wish there were just more slayer. that's mainly what i play, but it looks like i need to work on some objective based game strategy. namely no slapping plasma grenades onto my team mates asses accidentally just as they run by. it was an accident i swear. in fact, i saved the clip for review, it is quite hillarious.

oh yeah also, the best one was
"hold on! back up, I GOT THIS! i have rockets, lemme get them when they come through!!!"
then it was like you could almost hear that in game announcer guy laughing at me when he announced the double betrayal - suicide i just pulled off.

yeah pretty demoralizing, but i get a little trigger happy. oh well. everyone was great and it was still fun.

It was a blast! Hot: 101 is currently 2-0. My only complaint is that the CTF needs a time limit.

Snap... I just thought it was an exciting end to the match. I remember thinking "Damn, a lot of people must be getting killed and dropping the flag."


Good matches though. Peench grabbed our flag 14 times!

Good matches, although Rocket Race really effs up the flow of the night. And CTF needs at least a 20 minutes time limit.

Building Seas Rocket betrayal was hilarious and helped me get one kill. I was running around the corner into the base with a br thinking there is only one guy in there, I hear "hold on guys I'll take care of this", I turn the corner and start to mess my armor, but impact came through and saved the day taking the rocket for me, I shot seas in the face and called it a game.

That had to be the funniest moments for me besides every time namehater said that he was going to steal my lunch money and I swiftly beat him down but he managed to take it a few times and I went hungry.

Overall it was alot of fun and I cant wait until next round.

Agreed, but it does break the style enough that it gives the teams a chance to compete in a non-slayer/objective arena. (Which is probably why I don't like it.)
