BROWNS @ JAGUARS

This game went every which way but right for the Cleveland Browns. Brady Quinn got the start for the Browns and on his first pass of the game, threw an interception to Mathis returned all the way for a Touchdown. Jags up 7-0.

Jacksonville just didn't want to give Cleveland the ball as they held it for over 12 minutes.

The Browns tried to get their running game going but Jamal Lewis was just not playing well, and the Browns took to the air most of the 2nd half.

A late Interception by Brodney Pool put the Browns on the Jags 4 yard line, only for the Jacksonville Defense to mount an impressive Goal line stand.

Final Score: JACKSONVILLE 21 CLEVELAND 7

Here are some of the key stats:

QB:

TEAM-NAME-ATT-COMP-YDS-TD-INT
JAX-Byron Leftwich-14-22-156-2-1
CLE-Brady Quinn-2-16-90-1-3

RB:
TEAM-NAME-YDS-TD
JAX-Maurice Jones-Drew-61-0
CLE-Jamal Lewis-36-0

TOTAL OFFENSE:
JAX-205
CLE-115

Bengals 7 @ Colts 21

In the First Battle of the Massive Stud Quarterbacks, Peyton Manning and the Colts eeked out a win versus the multi-weaponed Bengals. In the interest of not providing any accurate scouting report there are no stats to be shared. Actually, I really just didn't write anything down. From my 40 year old memory:

Q1: No scoring
Q2: Addai ~2 yard TD run, [Cincy:0 Indy:7]
C.Johnson ~40 yard TD reception, [Cincy:7 Indy:7] (Was it ~40, Keezy?)
Q3: No scoring. Keezy had two interceptions on long bombs. I swear I was throwing into single coverage both times. The assisting defender must've been hiding inside R.Wayne's shirt...or maybe I need glasses.
Q4: During a drive with a little over two minutes left, Keezy forced a fumble but Schlick was luuuuuuuuuuucky enough to recover it himself. Later in the drive, Addai scored from the 1. [Cincy:7, Indy: 14]. C.Palmer, victim of no clock time, was intercepted on about the 25 and it was returned for a TD. [Cincy:7 Indy:21] Cincinnati got the ball back and made short work of the field, impressively, until a desperation pass to C.Johnson was intercepted around the six yard line. Manning ran the last 25 seconds off, and ran to the locker room thank the Madden gods for their favor tonight.

We'll say the Colts were at best, plodding, and the Bengals were victims of the clock. It was fun to play, Keezy. Thanks, and feel free to correct me or post any stats.

Accurate enough for me, I was also sacked around 8 times. I need to get used to the delay that online provides.

Good game man!

Week 1, Denver (AZRaiderH8r) @ Cowboys (Quo)

Wednesday night the Broncos rolled into Texas Stadium for their opener with the Cowboys.

The Broncs took the opening kickoff and marched down the field, taking with them a large chunk of the first quarter. The drive bogged down around the 20, and the field goal attempt fell just short.

On the ensuing drive, the Cowboys also managed to move the ball pretty well, taking it all the way down to first and goal. But it wasn't meant to be. The Denver defense held and forced the boys to kick a field goal just to get some points on the board.

After the kickoff, the Broncs went deep right away... but Terrence Newman snagged a one-handed interception and stole the ball back for the boys. The Cowboys once again marched down the field, but this time Romo threw an interception in the end zone and the Broncs had the ball again on their own 20 a little more than half way through the second quarter.

Jay Cutler and crew moved the ball pretty well again at first, but Cutler threw a critical interception and the 'boys ran it back for a TD to make it 10-0.

The Dallas defense took advantage of another miscue on the next Denver posession, as DeMarcus Ware grabbed an interception in the flat and took it back 25-30 yards for another score to make it 17-0. The rest of the half was scoreless, although the Broncos were able to take 3 good shots at the Cowboys end zone before the half.

On the first posession of the second half, Terrell Owens broke free on a slant for a 65-yard TD to put the Cowboys up 24-0. Then, EA took over and we had to make some adjustments. After several attempts to restart, we finally got the second half played. The Broncos once again moved the ball well, but were stopped on a 4th down conversion attempt. Javon Walker beat the Dallas defense deep, but was ruled out of the back of the end zone. After trading some punts, Dallas ended up getting a FG out of a late drive to make it 27-0.

Denver added a TD on a long pass play to make it 27-7 with a minute and a half left, and Dallas ran out the clock to end the game.

Dallas 27, Denver 7

Thanks AZ! It's always a blast to play with ya man!

Damn you EA! The connection issues in the 2nd half were brutal last night, but luckily Quo was kind enough to be patient as we tried to finish the game. Thank goodness for Walker scoring; I really didn't want to get goosed.

Thanks for playing Quo; it was a lot of fun! But seriously, that Ware INT for a touchdown was brutal!

In the ugly but true game

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tennessee Titans

This was one of those game where unless you were there you wouldn't believe it. Right from the start things were just not looking good for the Steelers. Vince Young's first past attempt was intercepted by Polamalu and after a return of a few yards he fumbled it and it was recovered by the Titans. The Titans then marched down the field and capped off the drive with a Young to Troupe scoring pass. The Steelers offense took the field after that and good never get the offense in gear. Punt after punt for the Steelers. The Vince and Ben show hooked up again for a td score at the end of the first quarter making it 14-0. In the second quarter Young threw another bad ass which was intercepted but again during the return the Steelers fumbled it again. Roethlisberger wasn't helping the Steelers case either as he was erratic all over the field throwing his share of interceptions. Bironas kicked a field goal near the end of the half making it 17-0 at the half.

The second half was nothing more than a turnover-punt fest. The Steelers D was holding up the best they could and the Titans D was all over Big Ben like a flies on crap. Back and forth the teams went as neither could get any points. Everytime one of the teams was driving it was stalled by a turnover. Including yet a third inteception by Young that was fumbled by the Steelers on the return. Thats right, three times the Steelers fumbled the ball after a interception. The Steelers threw more red flags this game than they had. The Steelers tried to remove the goose egg off the board by countless turnovers in Titans territory ended any dreams of that.

In the end the teams combined for 16 turnovers. 12 of which came on interceptions. Roethlisberger threw 4 while Young out did him with 8. What an ugly game in Tennessee. The Titans get the victory and the Steelers go home wondering what if?

Game Stats
Total Offense
Steelers 166
Titans 251

Key Players:
Vince Young: 13 of 30 168 yards 2 TD 8 INT

Kyle Vander Bosch 3 sacks
Troy Polamalu 2 INT
Nick Harper 2 INT

TENNESSEE TITANS 17 ( JSBFAN)
PITTSBURGH STEELERS 0 (BigSexyMVP)

WOW! 16 turnovers, that's amazing... I was laughing with my bro over the amazingly bad QB ratings this game kicks out... I bet Big Ben and Vince Young has some amazing ones!

That's fascinating. However, let's keep this thread on track and only post game scores and discussion directly related to the games of the PGL Madden League for the 360. Thanks!
