See, that's a tough one. I guess we'll have to debate that. Obviously, Vick has a major impact on the Falcons. Then you've got PacMan Jones, who's suspended from the Titans.

My first thought is that suspensions are different from injuries and these guys shouldn't play. What do you guys think.

oh, and no ingles, el Peencho?

I'm with Crank... In a way... If they are suspended they probably shouldn't play, but then again, this wasn't discussed prior to team selection, and he's right, it is just a game, so if I had a vote I would say it's OK to use them.

I think that's the main thing. I'm ok with anything. It would definitely be simpler to just allow it and move on, so it sounds good to me. If a player is on the roster, he is usable.

I guess we'll have to see what EA does... if they remove those guys from the roster, obviously they won't be there to use! Does anyone know if Vick is on the current Falcons roster? Make sure and re-order it or look at the depth chart too...

Vick is first on the depth chart still. I have to say that I don't think it would be fair to take Vick away from SeahawksTD4 unless he was notified prior to the team draft. I know I sure wouldn't have taken them in his spot unless Vick was my starter. Probably in the same way Bobby Petrino wouldn't have taken the head coaching job if he'd known the Vick situation would have panned out like it has!

Also, guess what? I was playing an online game and Julius Jones fumbled the ball (or so it seemed). I was furious because it looked like he was down, so i pressed the start button and the "challenge play" option was available online! It took all of two seconds for the ref to reverse the call and everything was righted in my world! Wahoooo! Way to go EA!

Alrighty boys... schedule's almost done. I should be able to get it announced and posted this weekend sometime. I'll post up the divisions beforehand... but I want to finalized everything first and make sure I haven't made any major screwups.

Two things...

First regarding suspensions: Personally I'm going to find it HILARIOUS if EA bans their prior cover-boy Vick from the game (latest word is that he's mulling over a prison time deal right now). I wonder if they will remove him from the game after a roster update - pending the outcome...

Second - OK - Injuries:

I agree w/ letting folks use their original roster - despite what happens in the real NFL season (especially after I lost Simms and his spleen last season lol),

BUT - can't we leave Injuries: On for the games???? I mean - holy cow - EA *finally* got Challenges into the game - shouldn't we also be able to lay a big hit on the star back - or a monster QB sack - and put him out of the game - for a quarter - a half - the whole game?!!

I think it adds more to the game. With injuries off, you don't ever worry about taking a hit... you don't mind giving the ball to your back over and over and over and over and over - cuz he's never gonna get hurt. You take the big sack, cuz you know your rubber man QB will be back the next down.

With injuries on - you run the risk of LT pulling a hammy after you hand the ball to him the 47th time! lol

You'll still get your guy back for your next game - but - injuries on will add something to the current game your playing.

What do ya'll think?*

*(I realize that my lack of appearance these past 6 months may render my opinion obsolete, but hell, had to throw it out there)

OK - one more (i'm not here often, so i gots to get it all out now!!)

In reference to the rule on SMACK TALK

I'm not talking about the random internet 13 yr old halo-kiddies smack - I mean the good ol PGL SMACK - just like in R63 or GRAW - or PGR etc...

Upbeat - good time - old fashion smack!!

Last year there were WAY too many (IMO) pleasantries exchanged - i.e.

"wow - great touchdown"

"whoa - you really rammed the ball down my throat on that 30 yard run - nice job"

"golly gee - you have a swell qb - helluva an arm"

and the BEST were the:

"awww - gee man... I'm sorry I scored again, I'm usually not this good..."

COME ON FOLKS!!! THIS IS FOOTBALL!!! TALK SOME TRASH!!!!

I was guilty last season too, but hell, it was only cuz I felt bad with all the kindness out there.... didn't want to hurt any feelings...

THIS YEAR - I'm openin up the can o' smack on ya!!* So, if anyone is gonna be offended, let me know now so that I hold back when we play... I don't want anyone crying into the headset! lol

*(That is providing that I actually score or somethin...)

Shibumi... I agree about the in game injuries.. Those should stay on. It does add a little bit more strategy to your play style.

Trash talk is fine in my opinion, as long as if your getting beat really bad you don't start to cry about how un-fair everything is.. :-) Granted, I may be on the end of that one a lot, but I won't cry.. Promise.. :-)

As far as I know the season will start Week 1 of the NFL Season.. So practice up!!

Shib I third the whole in game injuries.

The smack talk thing is hilarious! I remember Kama telling me that BrianBlair was muting the mic and cussing like a sailor during one of our games last year.

Bring on the Smack!
