I'm not sure if I'm picking it up or not... And seeing as the Buc's just dropped my boy Simeon this week, I don't even know if I wanna play w/ the team!! Gruden sucks!!!!!!
Anyway - I haven't checked all the threads, but are you all doing an APF league?? I would think that one would be easier cuz it's all managed automatically for ya online (isn't it??) - plus no EA bs ratings to deal w/ for the teams... The Bucs always get screwed by EA!

Not too mention my time deficiencies of the past 6 months... Hell, I still haven't even cracked the seal on NCAA08 yet (and 07 was my fave game last year).
But - I'll TRY... I mean, that 0-7 streak I had last season was wonderful!
As for APF - it looks like a league was discussed, but nothing ever formed. I still think the automated league site is pretty spiffy.

What do you think Quo? Also, do you have a limit to the # of teams you are willing to commission over this year?
And Schlick, you need to quit worrying about Brady to Moss. You should know better than to think that it'll be my bread and butter. Brady shares the love with the following:
Daniel Graham, Ben Watson, Troy Brown, Randy Moss, Dante Stallworth, Jabar Gaffney, Chad Jackson, Reche Caldwell, etc., etc....the list goes on.

Obviously we'll have to limit the league size somewhere. I don't really know what the reasonable limit is, but I do know that the more people, the more possibilities for the whole thing to come crashing down in an awful lump.
What do you guys think is a reasonable number? 14 wasn't a problem last year, but we had to replace 2 or 3 teams a few weeks in. I don't want that happening. We've got 19 so far and another from Wichita Falls possibly joining the fray (they're taking over! ).
I'd love to go AFC/NFC. I think the minimum we'd need for that is 24 or so... That way we could have 12 in each conference, with 4 each in 3 divisions, old skool-style.

I am sure we can get that many the way this thing has grown so far so quickly, plus we could have a few alternates to stand by in case we lose someone like you said. 12 teams in each conference would be ideal, but I guess that's considering the 24 players pick 12 AFC and 12 NFC. Nonetheless, we could probably get it pretty close
Crank, I still wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat knowing how close my undefeated season dream came to falling through my fingers due to your efforts. We shall meet again surely.
And yes, Wichita Falls, TX will be taking over. It's gonna be a fun season.

| I say we keep the list going but cap it at 24. If by some chance we get 34 players we take the first 24 and put them in the PGL NFL league and anything above 24 could play in a practice team league (if you will). If someone falls behind and starts to forfeit games we call up a player from the practice league (the most active player from that league). Quo I could keep tabs on a practice league to help out if it came to that. We could even have a practice league bowl to keep eveyone fairly interested in it. | |

Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Hendersonville, North Carolina Age: 40 | Agreed, that sounds good. Let's limit to 24 teams. Anyone above that will act as replacements. With 24 players, we are bound to need a few.
I'm for 2-12 team conferences with 3 divisions of 4. They may not mirror the actual divisions but we'll get them as close as possible. That way the playoffs would consists of 3 division winners from each conference, plus 3 wildcards. I know that's half the field, but hey, it's a game and it keeps it interesting. Top two division winners from each conference get a first round bye. Third-best division winner plays the worst WC team, and the other two play each other. Reseed, rinse, repeat. All per NFL guidelines.
That kind of set up will mean 6 division games, and then randomly selected 5 games in-conference but out of division, plus 5 games out of conference for a full 16 games. You'll play 13 different players out of a possible 23.
I'll post team draft order based on who's keeping whom in the next few days. When we have a solid 24, I'll follow that with a randomly drawn draft order for the remaining teams. That way when Madden releases on the 14th, everyone will know their teams and can start familiarizing with the playbooks.
So we have 21. Are there 3 more?
