The PFl: Season 2. Draft Order and Keepers Discussion

Here's the order of finish last year:
  1. Kama -- Patriots
  2. Woundup -- 49ers
  3. Schlickabod
  4. Crankbait -- Bears
  5. BrianBlair -- Steelers are thrown back
  6. Quo
  7. BoMali
  8. BMC -- Texans (not sure, but sounds like he's throwing them back)
  9. Keezy -- Bengals
  10. Dmiller
  11. Grenic
  12. Shibumi
  13. Mahkila
What we need to do is call out keepers. It should be done from top to bottom, so that everyone is aware of who's being kept before they decide if they are keeping. Woundup has already declared he's keeping. If you don't care what's available and want to keep no matter what, just call out that you're keeping your team.

I also need to know if you're playing or not! If your name is in Green you've called your keeper. If your name is in Blue you are playing but not keeping and want to be in the team selection draft. If your name is in Red, you've said you aren't playing and your team will be added back to the draft pool in shame.

After this we'll go in reverse order and draft teams from the available NFL teams. After current league members make their selections, league newbies will select based on a random order.

Don't be. I have a hard time explaining things sometimes, sorry.

We decided about mid-way through the season that this would be a keeper league. Players will have the opportunity to keep the team they played with last year if they so desire. Right now I'm just trying to clear up who all wants to keep their teams and who is throwing their team back into the pool.

Once we know that, we'll use draft order to allow the existing league members without teams to select their teams. That's the advantage of being in the league already. Once all existing league members have selected teams, then the new people will select based on a random draw.

Does that clear it up, or did I just say the same thing again?

There's plenty of time left still. I do want to iron out which existing league members are going to play again so we can iron out who all is going to play next year. We've got a few months of banterng back and forth to figure it out.

I liked that fact that they have fixed this

There's no more running in place like the Wiley Coyote when you hit the back of your O-lineman
and the new mulitple tackler animations sound cool as well as having control the second your WR makes a catch.

On a side note, is it just me or does every preview of a game start like, "We all know that last year's game sucked, but (insert makers of game) really pulled out all the stakes to make this year's title awesome!"

But if I remember correctly, they said the same thing the year before. Weird.

Sounds great to me. Although I do wish they would publicly recognize their server problems. They seemed to get a lot better as our season went along, but I wonder if that had anything to do with less and less people playing the game when the real NFL season ended?

Yep. Every year. EA has a bad case of Hype-itis. The game will be fun for sure, and I bet they add a few touches here and there. But I'm not expecting that they've broken the mold.

On the server thing, it's just more typical EA BS. They hide when they have problems as a company. Instead of being honest and owning up, they totally deny what's happening. It's ridiculous, but get used to it. I think one reason is they're publicly held, so they don't want any public admission of failure or issue to somehow affect stock price, etc. Anyway, EA sucks.

That said, I will end up getting Madden. It's still a fun game... it's just irritatingly close to a great game.

I thought the exact same thing Sam and Quo. Every single year, IGN proclaims the "true next-gen Madden is here!"

I'm still in the league, but I need some time to think about keeping the Texans. I want to keep them since they're the home team, but they gave me alot of headaches last year.
