PGL Tourney for Las Vegas (R6V)

Second, I'd like to thank Quo for the basic outline for "PGL War" games. I've edited the following from your awesome template, Quo! Hope this is alright! New rules that I thought would be interesting (for R6 anyway!), I've put in bold text, so check those out for some changes.



General Idea:

The site splits into two teams. R6V has 13 maps after the new releases on April 18th, 2007. Win a match on a map and you control that map. Control all the maps to win the war. Each side will start with control of 6 of the 13 maps. (See map below). There will be one neutral map at the beginning to account for the uneven amount of maps. This is where the first battle will take place.

There will be general signups. After the signup period, members who wish to participate will join the war as a mercenary, to be put on a team by the following match.

Format:

Teams start out controlling an equal number of maps. The team holding the map always hosts the match to avoid arguments over hosts. The first battle, being played at "Dantes' Casino," will be hosted by the Red Team (aka, the Robbers). Each battle will consist of a single map, played as:

1. Team Sharpshooter
2. Assassination
3. Retrieval
4. Attack & Defend
5. Total Conquest

Since a few maps don't allow some gamemodes, there will be a simple rule: If the map being played doesn't support the gamemode, "Team Sharpshooter" will be inserted in it's place.

Best of five wins the match. Before match night, the losing team of the previous match will have the ability to "Challenge" the other team for a territory. In the case of the first match, being Dante's Casino, the loser of the match will choose the next territory to battle on. The map being challenged on will remain a secret until match time.




Match times:

Since the Call of Duty 3 War has been dethroned, I hope to take it's place on Friday Night. The lobby should open with the predetermined host around 8:45pm PST, to start at 9:00pm PST. This time is subject to change, as it's not yet 100% confirmed. However, consider it a filler time until further notice.

This is intended to be a low commitment, easy to play format with pre-determined match times. Let's have some fun. Think of this as a very, very simplified game of "Risk". However, for simplicity, geography means nothing. Teams can attack anywhere at anytime.

Swweeeet!! Thanks for taking the lead on this Rocky! Looks like it'll be a lot of fun. I'm definitely gonna Jump In. Any chance we can start it at 11pm EST instead of midnight? I know we're dealing w/ some West Coasters, but just wanted to ask. I'll be up anyway, but thinking maybe other East Coasters can't stay up so late. Just a thought.

I think a sacrifice is in order, for sure, time-zone wise. I know, it's hard for both me and Peench to make it on before 9:00pm PST (although I am a little more flexible than Peench is when it comes to this time).

I appreciate all the late nights you East Coasters take for us Westerners, regardless.

Good work, Rocky - nice little map, too! I'm NOT gonna join up, due to my complete SUCK at this stupid game and would only be hurting whichever team I was on.

However, the idea to make it an hour earlier is a good idea for the EC folks. If there's not going to be a GRAW game - guess my Fridays are open again for quilting and many shots of tequila...

LOL I had one kill all night last night! I think I phrased my R6 experience as "The Greatest Wait to Respawn Game Ever."

No thanks - I'm gonna stick to GRAW2 instead; at least I know I'll be able to get at least two kills... until Brew shoots me in the back, anyway.

I'm quite positive I could match your suckitude!

Just wanted to jump in here and thank Rocky for getting this all together. We love avtive people here at PGL, and I love having help with events.

It's a pleasure! It's nice having enough people to reply too -- I started a small gaming community back in July, though It's lacking members.... What can ya do? I don't know how you guys are so popular -- trade secret I suppose :P !

Anyway, I wouldn't help out if I didn't like it here, so thanks for treating me so well! I'm more than happy to do it!

I don't want to spread rumors, but I hear that Peench goes on "MVP Summits" with other successful community owners. I hear they coat themselves in goats blood, pile 12 guys into a 10x10 hotel room, and make podcasts. It's quite bizzare, but if it gets us more members, I'm fine with it.

Alright guys! The war will officially start next week, on April 27th, at 9:00PM PST!

We will battle at Dantes Casino, over the five rounds specified on the original post, with an intermission between each round. Friendly fire will be ON.

The generals have been announced

D_Litch will lead the Robbers in an attempt to take over Las Vegas,

and Rocky2000 (Moi), will lead the Cops to restore peace and order.

Teams will be picked over the next week -- anyone who wishes to sign up afterwards is more than welcome, but has to play as a merc for the upcoming match (assuming there's enough room!). Because the lobby capacity isn't as large as Call of Duty 3 (24), we will have to allow all participating members whom have signed up to join the game first. Mercs will join if there is room left -- sorry guys!
