| | PGL Super Belching Moderator | After some horrible lag which caused us to restart our game, the Mean Green squeaked by the Warhawks 38-35.
This game had everything from bad lag throughout, offense, defense, season ending hits and last second drama. The first half was all defense, as at halftime the score was NT 7, ULM 6. The big highlight of the first half was AZ nailing my QB and breaking his elbow, ending his season. PGL's Hitman was enforce last night as he also took out two of my other players for short periods of time.
My freshman QB really stepped it up once he came into the game, especially in the second half.
In the 3rd quarter I was up 14 - 6, but AZ ran a kickoff back for at TD, the the got the 2pt. conversion to tie the game up at 14. I score a TD on my next possession to go up 21 - 14, but then he comes right back to tie it up again in one play. Fast forward to the fourth quarter where the game is tied at 35 with 1:10 left and I was approximately at my 35 yd. line. I had two time outs so I used the middle of the field to pick up yardage. I get to ULM's 22 yd line with 9 seconds on the clock and decide to run one more play because of the bad lag issues. I get to the 10 yd. line and run out of bounds with 3 seconds left on the clock, and as I was going to kick the FG, AZ calls a timoout to ice my kicker. The viewpoin for the kicker when iced sucks cause it's hard to judge the angle of the kick, but I guessed right and made the FG with no time left.
AZ the game was intense. You definitely lived up to your rep as the PGL Hitman. As always I enjoyed playing against ya. Good luck the rest of the season.

| | PGL Community Vendor | Ohiopro sent me this question to an admin on the EA Forums reguarding off-season... Quote: Question:
It appears that players leaving isn't working properly in my online dynasty. We have completed 2 years and both years members were able to talk people into staying but when we advanced those players were gone. Are we doing something wrong or is this a bug? Answer:
This may simply be a bug in the game. We will look into this eventually, but at the moment we are focusing on issues that prevent people from actually playing their Dynasties. I apologize for this.
| Uh....what? That's it? I guess none of us will have to worry about keeping juniors that want to go pro, they are as good as gone. I'm going to post this up in the other dynasty threads as well. | |

The odd and sad thing is, I've talked people into staying and they actually stayed and were available. So it's not every time. It'd be better if when they announced that they wanted to leave you knew that they were gone for sure. This way they get to leave you and STILL waste your time! ugh...
The thing I hate the most about the transfer request thing is that it's really unrealistic in terms of when people want to leave (for the most part). I've had a 78 Defensive Tackle decide to go pro after his sophomore year. I've also had two guys in the same year who were starting for me jump from my 10-2 major bowl team (MTSU) to go play for Northern Illinois. Say whaaaa? It's okay when you've got a guy buried in the depth chart and they want to move on, but if you're starting on a winning team, what gives??
I'll get on and roll it tonight when AZ recruits. AZ, if you don't mind, toss me a msg when you're finished.

Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Hendersonville, North Carolina Age: 40 | Thanks man! I rolled the week and got my game out of the way.
I beat Auburn roughly 39-28 or so. It was a brutal game (at Auburn) that I'll get nothing for because Auburn is somehow 3-4 now after losing to both me and ULM. Serves them right for playing such a weak non-conference schedule. ULM got a bump in the polls for beating them. I'll get nothing and like it!!!
My sophomore QB that I'm starting was soooo nervous that his lines wiggled the entire first quarter. And I was without my speedy starting HB, so I run down from behind on almost every play that would normally be a breakaway. I managed a long field goal to start the scoring late in the first quarter and I trailed 6-7 at the half. Auburn's defense is tough and fast. Their linebackers don't seem to miss their assignments as much as other teams, so my TE's and HB's were tougher to hit on those short little passes I love. And forget about running up the middle with my backup. My defense really won the game for me, as I picked off the Auburn QB 4 times... at least 3 of which led to scores (once on a pick-6).
How's everyone's recruiting going? How many starters are you hoping/expecting to pick up?
I'm shooting for getting 3-4 starters and a few red-shirtable freshmen and backups. I think I can manage that... but I'm in some very close races. I've noticed just hawking around on the recruit lists that some of you guys are actually pretty high on some really good recruits lists! My best looking recruit at the moment is only a 4-star. I've had no luck with the 5*'s at all... I guess you have to have more than 2 pitchable categories to get them.
On the bright side, it looks like 3-4 of us are going to bowl eligible as of this week! Hopefully that will buy all of us some category upgrades. 2-star, here I come.

Big news of the week: FIU breaks in to the top 25 at #23! They've been knocking on the door for 3 weeks now, and are finally getting some respect. Their star running back (Julian Reams) is second or third in the Heisman running. If he stays healthy he's got a really good shot... Schlick makes good use of him.
The ULM Warhawks swept the Sunbelt POTW awards, with QB Kinsmon Lancaster also winning the coveted NCAA PotW Award. Nice job, AzzRaider!
I'm looking forward to seeing/reading the highlights of the Troy-North Texas matchup. Snake made his presence known and evened up their records at 4-4 each. I think BMC's up to tumultuous season of the year, losing his starting QB for the season, beating an unbeaten conference rival and then having the Troy offense come alive on him in a matter of a few weeks.
This week: ULL vs. FIU... will FIU stay unbeaten or will the top 25 be brutal? Troy @ ULM... Troy's gotten hot now. Can he contain Lancaster? UNT @ Western Kentucky... looks like a walkover for UNT to get off the schnide. MTSU has a bye. Injuries:
FIU's WR Dix is questionable this week after being out for 5-6 weeks.
UNT's QB Vizzo is out for the year.
I'll ask again for recruiting updates. Don't use names if you don't want, but what's up? MTSU is currently in the heat of two races for players I desperately want... one is a 4* and the other a 3*. Lucky for me the opponents are non-human. I have 8-10 solid positions on recruits, but again... only 2-3 potential starters.

Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Sterling Heights, MI Age: 39 | Troy 38, North Texas 21 I feel a little bit lucky today after this win, for once the turnovers went my way and i made good use of them. My gound game did fairly well, and i dont remember for sure, but i dont think my QB threw any picks.
Any rate, i was leading 17-7 with the first half winding down when North Texas threw a pick that i returned for a score with time running out to go up 24-7 into the half. I got up at one point 38-7 when North Texas made it interesting. after cutting the deficit to 38-14, they recovered an onside kick (first time i've ever seen it work!) and scored again to cut the lead to 17. the next onside kick didnt work and i was able to drive down to the 5. Once N.Texas was out of time outs, i took the high road and kneeled a coupla times to kill the clock. It was a fun game, at least for me. hopefully i can at least finish 6-6 and be bowl eligible, but i got a tuff match up with AZ this week.
let me know which nights work best for you AZ, and we'll get our game in
