| | PGL Community Vendor | Amen...in my best VH1 "Remember the '08's" voice... The Rock Band sensation 'Coolstuffstores.Byaaah' had peaked in June, when scoring over 350,000 three times in a local concert in June. Swayed by the glamor of fame, drugs, and schedules, Coolstuffstores.Byaaah began to show the cracks that so many bands of the era do. After a few more lackluster performances the band was no more.
August of 2008 brought about the winds of change. Many of the former members had grown restless, some after striking out on thier solo careers. For others, the cheers of the crowds were missed. The band had to be brought together. Differences were set aside for one more magical night. A futile attempt to regain what Coolstuffstores.Byaaah had worked so hard to achieve.
The band was reunited, for one night only, and played to a packed audience in store where it all began. The band members were rusty, as were some of the guitars recently pulled out of storage, but the fire that was Coolstuffstores.Byaaah played on that night. Coolstuffstores.Byaaah!

| | In the Lobby | Apparently the memory card in my camera wasn't in my camera for a few pictures, so I have to transfer them out of the internal memory tonight.
Here's what did make it to the memory card: Dani California (747,877) Cherub Rock (807,460) Won't Get Fooled Again (694,379)
And the rest: Creep (442,168) Pleasure (592,813) Enter Sandman (648,682)
We actually took video of a couple of songs and then analyzed the power phrases to try and fine-tune our Overdrive timing. Our song notes say things like "skip first two overdrives, skip overdrive during guitar solo, bassist must initiate Overdrive after solo". SCIENCE! Fat lotta good it did us...

What a complete and total disgrace for you! Thus begins your spiral into a bottomless black pit of misery and despair. Mountains of scorn and derision will be heaped on you and your families for ten generations. Small children will point at you and laugh as you pass by, running desperately to escape the cruel taunts of your betters. Dogs will mistake you for a tree or fire hydrant. You Tube parodies by the dozens will appear, mocking your EPIC FAIL.
Meanwhile, as society systematically derides, then erases your very existence from the collective memory, Deeper Kimchi will enjoy fame and fortune beyond measure. Statues in our likeness are at this moment being planned for city parks and national monuments all over the country. Hot women will beg us to father children by them, children who will later point and laugh at you. Medal of Freedom, Pulitzer, Nobel, Emmy, Oscar, and Tony - no award will be spared in celebrating our monumental CRUSHING of you. The country of Deeper Kimchi will be founded in our honor, and Article I of its constitution will declare the words "Pestilent" and "Discourse" anathema to the principles upon which Deeper Kimchi is founded. The people of DK will become ninja-like masters of the Rock Band techniques first used by the country's namesake to lay waste to the Great Evil Band That Shall Not Be Named Because It's Against Our Constitution. They will spread this knowledge far and wide, for a reasonable fee, and the world will be in harmony (with a strong drum beat and bass line).
(Note: there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to be gained by examining the other five songs from this round. Nothing. Move along.) | |
