There is going to be a little change to the score keeping now due to limitations of the leaderboard system Rock Band uses. They have a cap set to 10,000 scores for songs by bands in the leaderboard. So if your band doesn't score high enough on a song it won't post on the leaderboard if it's not in the top 10k.

Since this is going to be a little contest we need to keep the score honest. The only way to keep the scores honest is for the bands to post a picture of their high scores. So any band playing will need a digital camera. After a song is over there is plenty of time for someone to grab a camera and snap a pic.

We are going to give out some prizes for the best band name and also for the best band picture. So be sure to dress up some night and post your band pics.

If anyone decides they don't want in now then please let me know. We have a great sponsor and some great prizes that we will be annoucing soon so I hope everyone decides to stick with this. I think this is going to be a great contest that will generate a lot of fun for everyone and their family/friends.

I will have some details up very soon and update the list of bands that are in.

I am please to say that the contest is now going to be sponsored by Drumshh and they are donating some great prizes.

The prizes include:

• Two $35 gift certificates (enough for 1 set of Quadrant pads + shipping in the US.)
• Four $20 gift certificates (enough for 1 set of 4-color/black/white (white is coming soon; meant for the Wii) pads + shipping in the US.)
• 20% off codes for all other non-winning band leaders (one code per band, though the band members can combine on one order since presumably they live in the same town). This code can't be comined with the PGL offer.

We will officially start the contest next week, so all bands will need to have their scores posted by 11pm EST on Sunday, June 22nd.

I will post the songs of the week this Saturday, June 14th.

NOTE: All band leaders please be sure to post up the name of your band, members (who they are, instrument and difficulty).

I have updated the original post to contain the updated rules, info on prizes and the songs for this week. If you have any questions send me a pm.

The songs for this week will be:
Week 1 - Say It Ain't So (Weezer), Here It Goes Again (OK Go), Celebrity Skin (Hole)

I have changed the rules to allow for PGLers (who don't have enough family or friends for a local band) to form a band and they can play over Live. Since all scores will be validated via a picture this is now possible.

So get your bands together and lets see how high the scores can get for the first week of songs.

Hey Supa - quick question - Dlitch and I want to form a bad, but there might be a song or two on there I've never seen. Are some of them locked still? If so, hopefully Dlitch has em or I might not even be able to play them!

For those that haven't unlocked certain or all songs there is a code you can put in that will unlock them all.

Unlock All Cheat
Enter quickly at the "Rock Band" title screen (Press START button is at the bottom of the screen).
Red, Yellow, Blue, Red, Red, Blue, Blue, Red, Yellow, Blue Unlock All Songs(disables saving)

As for the score posting just put them in this thread.

Be sure to post the name of your band and scores (with a picture for proof) for each of the songs.

Does this mean since we're using a digital camera to obtain scores that I can compete with my friends on their PS3? If so count me in and I'll get you the names ASAP. Thanks

Yeah we can open this up to PS3 players as well now. I am pretty certain that the 360 and PS3 version have them same songs, so there is no reason they can't be part of this too. As long as one of the band members is a PGL member they can partake in the contest also.

Be sure to get the word out to anyone on PLG that has Rock Band. The more bands we have in the contest the better!
