I don't know anything about any of that. Gee whiz, that manual is useless.
My players were neither crashing the boards (I was out-rebounded 27 to 12 or something like that) nor dropping back to prevent the fast break. Is there a slider for "bullshit off"?
By lock on defense, if you mean holding down the left trigger, yeah I do that. What I can't figure out is if I'm supposed to continue try to keep up with them or take my finger off the stick at that point...?
Also, is there a way to call a base defense that the team will play in all the time instead of having to call it every time? I.e, say I want to press... right now i have to call it every time down the floor, and my guys are always out of position. Can I set it (in-game) to where that's the default?
And when you say defensive matchups are you talking about playing loose, auto or tight or about something else?

Yeah...the manual is one of the biggest complaints this year. It explains about 10% of the nuances of the game.
Hold the left trigger and lock on, keep your finger on the trigger and stay with your man. Watch the animation, you can tell if the ballhandler is about to spin off of your defender when you're locked on...at that point as the defender I'd let go of the trigger, reposition, then re-lock. Let it go when someone comes to set the screen, repostion, then re-lock. When they shoot a jumpshot, you really don't even have to jump if you're locked on (have to have decent defensive awareness rating & on ball defense rating too)....your player will run at the shooter with a hand up. Unless they're a crappy defender. Bonzi Wells is an excellent man defender, as is Chandler in the post.
Don't really know about the defense thing...I mainly play man to man (unless the offense is jacking 3's, in which case I run 3-2), and it seems as if the default is man to man. So I don't have too many issues with that.

uhm yeah, for the first time in my gaming career i am askeered to play someone. My first week matchup is against Enderz, i might challenge Quo for a season low in points judging by Enderz' posts, sheesh i didnt know any of that crap. I use the pass and shoot buttons, thats about it
maybe thats why Woundup smoked my team last night.....maybe that didnt come out right

sounds like we may need to split the league into two leagues after this first one's done... The "We suck and mash buttons" League and the "We know this game well" League.

Schlick! I believe you and me play first. Let me know when you want our match up to go down.

Hmmm.. Maybe I should have gotten in on this league!! I might have had a chance to win a game! (not 2, but at least 1).
Plus I love that 2K website!
I'd still like to give an All Pro Football league a shot too - just to have the 2K league site track everything.

It was fun Schlick! Win or lose, I had a blast shooting the breeze with ya!
I'm really digging this game. Snake and I played after Schlick and I were done, and it was a blast! I've finally found a sports game I don't totally suck at. Granted, I'm using the Celtics, but still.
