2008 PGL NCAA Season - Scheduling

I figured we should take a page from the Madden league and start a thread for scheduling games for NCAA.

So, DLitch, you get a working 360 yet?

Yeah but if you want to do the rankings correct shouldn't we wait til the Madden season is over?
If you throw it out there now for people to play, some may play now, while other may not get to it until next week.
First I say we wait til Madden is over. Personally I want to start the NCAA soon as my Madden is done. And if I do not play and other decide to play two weeks of their season, how the hell are we going to do rankings?
Second, I think we have to make sure everyone gets there game in each week. Or the ranking won't work.
And lastly, should you compose a list from us of the players we want to turn in for the Heisman Trophy?

I think there is a lot to be done and determined before any kick-offs of any game!

Samalam!!! I called all EBs in my town today and none of them have 360s still. I got some insider info from a Best Buy buddy of mine that said Fridays are one of the more common days for new console delivery. As soon as I get a 360, I'll be ready for our game.

You have some good points and ideas . However, after seeing how crazy the Madden season went I don't think we could count on all of us keeping the same pace. But I just thought of a better idea. I say we only report games from week one for now. So if anyone gets into week 2 games, that's cool, just don't post them up until we complete the week 1 games and the week 1 poll. That should keep everything square, sound good to everyone?

As far as the Heisman stuff I'm having everyone keep track of their own stars for the first five weeks so you can all figure out who your star player is going. After five weeks, everyone PM's your star player to me and his stats and then ever game after that, the star players from each team should be submitted along with the normal game stats.

Uhhhh, yeah. I can testify to that. There's no way in hades everyone will play their games in the same week. It'd be cool, but it won't happen.

That's a great idea. That eliminates the problem of getting too far ahead of everyone. Do we have a policy for keeping people from getting too far behind? Personally, I'd like to see a two-week window for games. We start a schedule, and if you haven't played your week 2 game and it's week 5, it's a forfiet. That's pretty rigid, but otherwise this voting thing will be really, really hard to get off the ground... then we'll find ourselves hurrying up to finish and voting 3 times in one week trying to straighten it out.

Just some thoughts. That may be too rigid, but I'd love to hear what others think.
