Lord Sam an his Extra-medium Trojans came to Lane Stadium tonight and looked to beat up on #14 Virginia Tech. USC had it's hands full the fist half, but VT threw it away in the second.
VT had everything going for it in half 1:
USC marched down the field on the opening kick and scored, but VT answered right back and scored 7 of their own. On the ensuing kickoff, VT's kicker dropped it at the 1-yard line. And when a special teams player went to down it, he knocked it in the end zone, it was still marked at the 1-yard line, but Sam had to ride the emotional roller coaster. "Oh hell, it's on the one. HE KICKED IT IN, Oh my god. What? Dammit! It's still at the one". 2 plays later, a DE by the name of Ellis sacked John David Booty in the end zone for 2 points. On the next series, VT marched down fiend to make it 16-14 at half.
And the second half happened:
INT by VT
FG by USC
INT by VT
TD by USC
INT returned for TD by USC
TO on downs by VT
FG by USC
TD by USC
20 unanswered points. With VT's morale low, they received shot in the arm. A kickoff return for a TD(which I'll post once I figured out how). And then they got the 2-point conversion. The onside kick failed, and Sam ran out the clock.
Final Score
USC - 34
VT - 24
Great talking to ya Sam! I have full confidence in my team now, as I'm sure you have in yours

Well being the slacker that I have been for the last 5 months I failed to report my game with Schlickabod in a timely manner which we played Thursday night.
Here is a brief synopsis of the 38-21 game:
It was a beautiful afternoon in Eugene when the Noles rolled into Outzen stadium for an ESPN Thursday game with the Ducks. This highly anticipated match up did not disappoint. The first half was a story of defenses starting off slow and not being entirely comfortable due to it being the first game of the season. Both Oregon and Florida State scored on their initial drives making it a 7-7 ball game. After a few scoring drives by both teams and a few interceptions the score was still tied 14-14 with 2 mins left in the half. Oregon had the ball and was driving when Dixon threw into the awaiting arms of Safety Roger Williams for an interception at the Noles 2 yd line with 4 secs left in the half. (One of three on the day for Williams, maybe an early season Heisman hopeful?) Needless to say all the Noles had to do was sit on it and take a tie ball game into halftime. But NO, X. Lee decided to try his luck at one on one coverage down the left side which of course resulted in 10 yd interception return for a touchdown by Oregon. Score going into half 21-14.
Well luckily in the second half the Noles defense finally decided to make an appearance (at least those that weren't on academic probation that is).
They were able to hold Oregon to O points and return two interceptions back for touchdowns. Most of the second half consisted of several stalled drives due to turnovers and a Florida State touchdown by way of a X. Lee pass (yes he was left in the game even after that huge first half mental mistake) to his full back for a 19 yard score. The score remained 35-21 until midway through the fourth quarter when while driving to the Oregon 15 yd line X. Lee decided to hand the ball off to nobody and drop it on the turf where the defense recovered. Oregon still had life only needing two scores to tie it up, however the turnover bug reared its ugly head again and while Oregon was driving Dixon threw another INT eventually leading to a Florida State field goal. This pretty much sealed the victory 38 -21 with a minute left. While this game was a blast to play the frustration of 12 turnovers in the game (5 by the Noles and 7 by the Ducks) finally reached a boiling point when on Sports Center that night D. Dixon accused Florida State of spiking his Gatorade with Gin & Juice resulting in his 7 INTs. Thanks for a great game Schlickabod I had good time playing you. If you ever want some redemption just let me know, I'm always up for a good game of NCAA!

Michigan met Louisville tonight and a Heisman candidate shined bright. Michigan put up a field goal late in the first quarter to go up 3-0 in what started off as a defensive battle, but soon blossomed. Brian Brohm for Louisville was looking to movie into the spotlight, but was quickly floored to reality as he threw back to back INT's returned for touchdowns early in the second quarter. The 14 points would prove to be the difference in the game. The score at the half was 24-10 as Brohm found #85 for a 67 yard touchdown, but Chad Henne also found Mario Manningham for a score to keep the differential at 14.
Manningham caught everything in site today.
Manningham caught two more touchdowns in the second half, as Louisville's secondary had a tough time keeping the ball out of his hands. He was also immaculate after the catch, often breaking tackles and spinning around defenders. Brohm threw another TD to WR #7 for 23 yards, and RB #24 also ran in a 2 yard score. The Cardinals were often within a touchdown, but were unable to get a stop against Manningham and company.
Sucks writing up as the "loser" - but I'll do my best to remember the details...
From the get go it looked like it would be LONG day for the South Florida Bulls. The Unranked (EA) #15 (PGL) Bulls were going up against powerhouse and conference rival #6 (EA) #10 (PGL) WVU.
The Bulls couldn't get anything going in the 1st and quickly were down 14-0 by the start of the 2nd. However, the team dug deep and managed to rally back! It all started w/ USF downing a beautiful 48yrd punt at the WVU 1 yrd line!!
On the ensuing play, WVU tried to power the ball up the middle, only to be met by the stingy South Florida D Line - who not only stopped #10's forward progress, but actually pushed him back - tripped him up - and scored a Safety!!
The Bulls offense was again stopped after the free-kick. But w/ WVU again backed up close to their endzone, the Bulls D was hungry for more. Feeling the D Line pressure, WVU QB #5 threw an ill-advised pass that was easily picked by CB #21 and taken to the house - 6 more for the Bulls!!
Things get a lil fuzzy here, but USF mounted a drive in the third and following a quick TD Pass, the Bulls added another 6pts and TOOK THE LEAD OVER WVU!!
The Bulls tried to go back to the well for a 2pt conversion, but #9 was still celebrating his TD reception and for whatever reason dropped the sure catch!
WVU - 14 USF - 15 !!!
After 3 unanswered scores - and not having heard from them since the 1st Q, the WVU offense made themselves known again in the 4th! They took the ball down the field and scored a quick 6. They also took a shot at the 2pt conversion, but the South Florida D had other ideas and put QB#5 on his back!
And that would end up being the final score. The final stats would show that Bulls led in several categories - time of possession (15 mins - 5 mins), passing, overall offense yrds, first downs (10 - 3).
But they also led in turnovers with several INTs and sacks given up!!
While the Bulls lost this one with a last minute INT, the hope is that the voters will recognize the effort from this South Florida team and show them the respect they deserve in the next poll!
Good game, Chit!! btw - i don't think you had your mic on - if you did, I never heard ya the whole time... And - yeah - sorry - all of the WVU footage got lost somewhere, I only had USF stuff!!
#10 West Virginia (Oohchit) 20 #15 S. Florida (Shibumi) 15
