I know I speak for everyone when I say great job, Sam. This thing kind fell all to pieces but it wasn't because of a lack of effort on your part. Sorry I contributed to its downfall.
Good luck everyone on your bowl games!

The Louisville Cardinals hosted the West Virginia Mountaineers in the 2008/2008 BCS National Championship game last night and it was quite the thriller. Louisville came in with a 9-1 record and West Virginia went 5-2 in the regular season. They had played twice in the regular season with the Cardinals winning both times. This game, however, had a different setting. With the Championship at stake, both teams came in ready to duke it out.
Louisville received the kick in the first half and went 69 yards to score on a 1 yd run by running back #24. The extra point was smothered so the Cardinals went up only 6-0. After an interception on West Virginia's first possession, Brian Brohm found WR #26 for an 8yd TD toss to go up 13-0 in the first quarter. It looked to be another route by the Cardinals, but the Mountaineers had something to say about that!
West Virginia kicked a 44yd field goal midway through the 2nd quarter to cut the lead to 10. Then after a 3 & out from Louisville, West Virginia drove to midfield. On a 3rd & 14 just inside Cardinal territory, WR #2 was found over the top in the end zone by QB #5 with just 54 seconds to go in the half. It was a gorgeous pass with the cornerback blanketing the receiver, but it was perfectly placed over the shoulder for the touchdown. The score was 13-10 at the half.
Louisville was very concerned, as their offense had sputtered against the tough Mountaineer defense in the first half. West Virginia got the second half kick off and the quick QB #5 went for a beautiful 66 yd scamper to the endzone to give West Virginia its first lead of the game. The lead lasted the rest of the third quarter.
A tough fourth quarter was fought in the trenches as Brian Brohm was sacked and knocked off his rocker many times. Both sides played tough defense. Louisville finally got it together on an excellently called drive, mixing in fancy and tough runs from RB #24. The Cardinals had a first and goal at the 9 yd line and RB #24 ran for just a yard. The second play was a pass in the endzone that was brilliantly batted away. Third and goal from the 8 yd line. Louisville was lined up in "i" formation and called a slant play. Brohm audibled for the 6'6" WR #7 to run a fly instead of the called slant. Ball snapped....immediate lob and the tall athletic receiver leaped to make a dandy one handed grab for the score. After the kick it was 20-17. West Virginia would then get the ball, go for it on 4th and 11, but was unsuccessful. The Cardinals would hang on and kick a game sealing 21yd FG to sure up the Championship.
What a game it was! Oochit you played great man. By far the most exciting game I've played this year. Thanks a bunch!
Final
Louisville Cardinals 23
West Virginia Mountaineers 17
P.S. Highlights are coming soon, courtesy of Oochit!

I think they are done with 2008 and preparing for 2009. Lame.
