Welcome to the NCAA 08 Season!
Couple of things to start out with. Same rules from the Madden league apply here. No shenanigans! That is the basic rule, let's just have fair and fun games with this. If we aren't having fun (both winners and losers) then we missed the point. So play nice, or I'll sick "The Quo" on ya!
So first of all, let's start with the preseason poll. Don't be offended if you are ranked low, it doesn't mean a thing. Don't get excited if you are rated high, it also doesn't mean a thing.
NCAA 08 Pre Season Poll
So when you play your games, you'll report your results here in this thread. They should include the following:
Score: Week: Star stats: (winner)
Star stats: (loser)
Star stats is going to be our
Race for the Heisman! Each team will pick one player on his team to be his designated Heisman candidate (have it figured out by the end of your first game). Each game, win or lose, that player's stats will be recorded and posted here. So make sure the guy doing the reporting knows who the star players are. Let's try and be as complete as we can with these. If your star is a QB, try and get his Attempts, Completions, Yards, TDs. If your star is a RB, look for his attempts, rushing yards, and TD. If your star is a WR, look for his catches, yards, and TDs. Also, keep an eye out for rushing yards for QBs and receiving yards for RBs, etc.
Edit: Since it would be difficult to figure out who your star players are going to be, we are making it so everyone keeps track themselves for the first five weeks. That will give you an idea who your star is. At that point we'll have everyone post your star's stats for the first five weeks and then stats for that player should be added to each game reported.
I think our default setting is the loser of the game is responsible for reporting these stats, but just as long as someone reports here that is cool. So make sure somebody does it.
Once we get results from all the week one games (here in this thread), I'll post a quick recap of the week's game (again, here in this thread) and then we'll have everyone rank the 15 teams again (again, sent as a PM to me). Things will get kinda screwy since some people may already be on week 2 or 3 by the time week 1 is complete for everyone, that's why the weekly recap will be important. At the end of the season the #1 ranked team with play the #2 ranked team for the PGL BCS Game, then the rest of us will play in the "other bowl games", with the exception being the 15th ranked team. Since we have an odd number, maybe we'll let the 15th team play the CPU in the Toilet Bowl.
Your next question is who and when do I play? Here are the matchups for the first week, followed by the full schedule. It's brutal! You play a top 15 team every week!

Overall you'll have six home games, six away games, and one bye and you play home-and-away with everyone in your conference:

Read down for your opponents by week. Yellow games are home games, grey are away.
I can't think of anything else, so away we go!
