1. What is your forum name & Gamertag/PSN ID/Wii #?
Thornes70 on the forums & 360, Eksir989 on the PS3… But I haven’t been on the PS3 in ages.
2. What is your real name and what do you to pay for all these games?
My real name is Tom & I work for Fedex.
3. What brought you to PGL?
I think it was a post on Xbox.com by Quo, pimping out the site in some “I’m sick of retards on Live” thread. I had become so disgusted by the usual crowd you find on Live and was going to cancel it altogether, but thought I’d check it out first. If it wasn’t for PGL, I probably wouldn’t be playing on XBL at all.
4. What do you like about PGL?
I like that it’s not about being the best – nobody cares about skill, it’s just about having fun. There’s always something going on, and anyone can set up a game & get people to join in. I also like the fact that the forums have just as much non-gaming talk as talk about gaming, with a lot of different opinions & they’re all respected. Even though I was big-time against it at first, I like that an age requirement is in place, too.
5. Where did you come up with your gamertag/PSN ID
My 360 gamertag is part of my real name & birth year, and my PSN ID comes from something said to me in the Navy.
6. How many hours a week are you gaming online?
It varies. Sometimes I game every night & sometimes I go weeks without gaming, other than GRAW Sundays… I’d say in all, about five or six hours a week.
7. Why do you game??
I like the punishment!

Actually, it’s a good form of entertainment, and games are something you can pick up & put down just whenever. I dig the fact that more & more games are breaking the linear aspect and allowing you to play them the way you want to (or don’t want to). Being able to randomly do things you wouldn’t do in real life is a great stress-reliever, and it’s a fun way to space out. Plus, some of the storylines are actually pretty good.
8. What's your favorite snack?
Licorice. And asbestos flakes.
9. Have you ever participated in FNFF?
Sure, many times. I tend to skip a few if one game tends to dominate for a while, though. The good thing about FNFF is that anyone can set up a game & if people want to join, they will.
10. When do you normally game?
It’s pretty much on the weekends, but every once in a while I’ll jump on after work. There is a couple ‘regular’ gigs I have going on, too.
11. Do you game with your family/local friends?
I actually got Xbox Live to game with a couple of local friends. I also game with my son occasionally, but I’m pretty restrictive on the amount of gaming time he’s allowed.
12. What's your current favorite game?
I don’t think I have one game at the top of my list really, but if I had to pick one, I’d have to say it’s still GRAW2. It never gets old. GTA IV is a close second.
13. What's your favorite game of all time?
Oblivion IV. I’ve literally put hundreds of hours into it, and I still haven’t done everything.
14. Do you take the stairs or the elevator?
Jetpack.
15. Do you like SP or MP more?
It depends on the game, really. I like MP more for the most part if there’s enough variation, but if it’s just the same old thing no matter what MP mode there is, I’ll drop it pretty quick. SP modes have really come a long way, so if it has a good story to it and doesn’t seem to just be thrown in as an afterthought, I’ll finish them (eventually).
16. If your batteries died in your controller right before the final boss battle of a game and you didn't have any replacements in the house, would you (a) knock on a neighbor's door and borrow some; (b) drive frantically to the store for replacements; (c) turn the game off and charge the batteries or buy replacements the next day?
I’d throw the console out of the window and start a cult! Actually, I’d just plug & play because I’m cool like that. WORD.
17. How far would you travel to meet gamers you play with online?
Normally, about two city blocks… If something took place in Seattle or Portland, I’d probably try to get there if I could.
18. If you where stuck on an island with one console and one game what would they be?
Remember the LED football games? Pure adrenalin, man… I know I wouldn’t take a 360, since I’d be too paranoid about it RRoDing on me to play it. The original Xbox with the game Thief would probably be my choice. Something about using a blackjack to club people makes me feel all warm & fuzzy. Pick-pocketing people and listening to them say, “Stolen - right off my person!” makes me laugh every time.
19. Xbox live nemesis?
M Theory. He knows what’s up. N00b cheater. Does tk’ing Wood Ghost count as a nemesis, or a hobby?
20. What is it about GRAW that has you dedicating a day out of every week to it?
It’s just fun to play. It has the most maps, game variants, and personalization options I’ve ever seen – and when you throw in the top-notch coop, you can’t beat it. At first, it was because I wanted to get my money’s worth out of the download content; now it’s because we have a good regular group (and growing).
