America's VideoGame Expo is a celebration of video and computer games for the avid and casual gamer. Attendees will have the opportunity to play the newest, coolest games, meet game industry celebrities and legends, compete in tournaments, and buy new and retro games.
"America's VideoGame Expo promises three days packed full of videogame celebrations," said Ed Fleming, founder of VGXPO. " VGXPO is a destination where gamers can come together to celebrate videogames and the culture that games are helping to define."
VGXPO is a gaming festival that celebrates the positive impact that videogames have had on the US culture since the 1970s. The convention provides a forum for the game industry to celebrate its stars, icons and legends. When a gamer comes to VGXPO he will have the opportunity not just to play & buy the latest games (and the classics) but also have the opportunity to meet the people responsible for their creation.
Now in its second year, America's VideoGame Expo was created to provide US game players with conventions on par with similar international game events, such as the Tokyo Game Show, Korea's G-Star convention and the German G|C expo. In 2005, VGXPO attracted 17,000 attendees and over 40 exhibitors.
"We're thrilled to bring VGXPO back to Philadelphia," said Fleming. "This year's expo will feature the best that videogames have to offer and lots more."
The following is a sample of some of the events and exhibits that are planned for VGXPO 2006:
- Exhibitors showcasing the latest games for current and next-generation gaming platforms
- Conference panels, presentations and discussions
- Dozens of vendors selling games from the 70's, 80's, 90's and today
- Halloween costume contests and COSPlay
- 24-Hour Gaming: non-stop gaming action Friday night through Sunday, featuring
The VGXPO Arcade
Card Gaming and Table-Top Games
BYOC LAN Center
- Massive gaming competitions and tournaments
- The second annual VGXPO Lifetime Achievement Award
- VGXPO Robot Wars
- Videogame icons, legends and celebrities
- Battle of the VideoGame Bands contest
- And much more
| Crip, did your tickets come yet? Mine haven't.

Broshot, it is no big deal. Besides, if you did come, you would probably somehow get stuck in Philadelphia and you'd have to hitch-hike back to Ohio.
You take care of yourself. I'll dress up like Tang for the Halloween thing in your honor. I promise!

Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Nazareth, PA Age: 35 | I moved the thread to the PGL Community forum and made it sticky to see if we can some more PGL peeps at his event. So far it's Wonder and I. If any local area PGL folk can make it to the expo....get your butt there. Weekend passes are $35 when purchased online. We also have a rm. booked at the Radisson for Sat night. I think it is between $120-$130/night. So split that among anyone who crashes there and the price isn't bad. We also got this: Quote: | In addition, all VGXPO attendees staying at the Radison and Scanticon Valley Forge hotel complex will get FREE access to the VGXPO Halloween Party (a $25 value) on Saturday, October 28, 2006. All registered guests at either hotel will receive a welcome packet at check in, which will include Party wristbands. If more then one person is staying in a room be sure to register with the hotel or they may not get the VGXPO packet and party passes. | I'll where my Gamer's Disguise kit to the party. (for you Spoon) There is also a crazy LAN fest going on the entire weekend. The hotel is part of the convention center so we'll be able to check out the LAN in the wee hours. BAWLS for everyone. Hopefully some more PGL members will be able to stop by. Even if it's for the day. Check out the website here: http://vgxpo.com/index.htm

You will get an email to print and bring to the expo for admission. Wonder and I are still attending. We have room for some more folks in the hotel rm too if you would like to stay overnight.
