Everyone always sends me PMs or emails asking "how can I help PGL?" Okay well really no one sends me those messages but I know you all are thinking about it right?!?
PreGameLobby.com was established as a community website to build an awesome community of gamers. We all love gaming and want to have fun. We also have loads of fun gaming with each other. There are little things that each of you can do to help out here at PGL. Most of them don't really require all that much effort but will help out in one way or another here.
Ultimately there is no obligation to do anything here at PGL. We opened the doors and started the community and we want the community to drive growth. But for those of you who maybe didn't consider how to help and were perhaps interested, this list is for you. There is obviously no obligation to do any of these things, but if you do any of these, Keezy will kiss you.
1.
Contribute Posts. We are a community of gamers (do I sound like a broken record yet?
Ultimately we like hanging out with each other and any posts we make offer another opportunity for people to connect. Feel free to post about games or anything else. Start a conversation about something - you never know when someone else will be interested in the same thing.
2.
Contribute Reviews. There's nothing written requiring us to do any formal reviews of anything. If you like or hate a game, post your thoughts about it. If you like or hate a movie, post your thoughts about it.
3.
Help your fellow members with informative posts. This may seem redundant to the first two, but it is a little different. Many people come to PGL looking for help. Whether it is in selecting a new router, TV, game, etc. they look to the PGL community for insight and input. Offer up some great information and you'll be the talk of the PGL town.
4.
Participate in tourneys and events. Most of us came here to be able to game with cool people online. Check out the
Connecting Forum and participate in a tournament or event. Better yet, start up a tourney or event for your favorite game!
5.
Coordinate games with other members. If coordinating an entire tournament is too much, how about starting with a game. If you love a certain game, tell everyone you'll be online playing it and send out invites to fellow PGL members to join up with you. Gaming together is the best way to develop further community ties.
6.
Send Friend invites to PGL members. I hate to admit that my Friends list is full on my XBOX, but not yet full on my PS3. We should all make an effort to send out Friend Requests to new and old members so that we can all play together online.
7.
Spread the word when gaming or at other forums. Signature lines are all the rage these days. If you frequent other forums (rock climbing, aquarium, gaming, car, etc), throw in a small link to PreGameLobby. You never know what other cool gamers might be out there looking for a great community such as PGL.
8.
Participate in raffles. We started the
raffle idea this year because it seemed like a good way to generate a bit of funds to pay for hosting and maintaining the site while giving back to the community. Buy a raffle ticket any month and be entered for that month's drawing!
9.
Help develop site stats. Install Alexa toolbar in
IE or the plugin for Firefox

here. For better or worse gaming companies and advertisers will look at our Alexa rankings first when determining whether they want to work with us. Higher rankings = more opportunities for members.
10.
Digg stuff that is posted. We have loads of great information here at PGL. Want to get the word out? Digg the story! Click on the buttons located at the bottom right hand corner of any post and submit it to Digg so the whole world can see what PGL has to offer.
11.
Contribute funds. There is no obligation to contribute any money to enjoy all that PGL has to offer. If you love it here and feel like providing financial support to keep PGL running and giving back to the community, send us any amount of contribution. We'll love you for it!
12.
Click on google ads. Believe it or not, we generate a small amount of funds from google ads. If you are bored, feel free to click through all of the ads. In the aggregate it ads up to funds to keep PGL running.
13.
Give reputation to positive members. One thing that we have not emphasized enough is giving back to members who are helpful. We have a built in reputation system that allows everyone to give praise to members who are extra helpful and go out of their way to demonstrate a positive attitude. Use it! The button is located on the bottom left, below the members name.
14.
Anything else you can think of. This isn't a definitive list but is instead intended to get you thinking. If you want to do something else, go for it! We're a community (okay I must sound like a broken record by now), and it takes all of us to make PGL great.
