All joking aside, the gaming community is interesting. There are jerks all over the place in online gaming, but then there are awesome communities like PGL and others who let you hang out and be who you are with like-minded gamers. GamertagRadio is an Xbox related podcast and community that has focused on the gaming community for years. They are having their 3rd annual "Community Vibes" party in February of 2008. So far it looks like there will be more than a few treats for community members who show up. These include giveaways and others that are not yet announced (and might just be kept as a surprise until the day of the event). Hey, it's in my neck of the woods.

Truthfully, I would attend this event if I knew I were going with a few people or in a group. But since no one else I know locally would be interested in going (including my wife), going solo would not be fun at all so I may have to skip on this.

That's unless any PGLers decide to attend.

Then I'll make it a priority to be there. I'll even take the group on a tour of the city showing you the beaches, the hotspots, etc. Let me know!!!

If anyone in upper Florida is on the way down, or if someone flies in and needs a lift, let me know. Carpooling is about the only way I'll be able to make it from here. I'm about 45 miles south of Tampa. Miami is damn far but I wouldn't mind going with some of you guys. I'd bring a date, but I'd have to blow her up first.

Monkey is right, Godfree and everyone I've met associated with GTR is great. If I were local I'd go by myself and hang with some great people who also like gaming. Maybe even win some awesome prizes. Maaaaaaaaaan - the wife and I just flew down to Ft Lauderdale last weekend for a Microsoft event - the week before I was also in the Miami area for work...

I don't think I can swing a 3rd trip down (flight + hotel)...

Wish I would have seen this earlier, I may have blown off the Microsoft event for this one instead!!

BTW - for anyone considering - Southwest has some dirt cheap flights into Ft Lauderdale. With this event in Miami, you can fly into either Ft Lauderdale (FLL when you look it up) or Miami international. FLL will only add maybe a 20 min drive to your agenda. We flew roundtrip from Tampa to Lauderdale on Southwest for less than $100 each.
