The game storyline takes you to the near future when the Earth colonists start exploring and cultivating new planets fit for living. New tasks and new researches lead to new threats and fears – inhabitants of a distant colony face new land contenders. Hostile aliens are trying to invade and conquer what has been cherished so far.
The Earth government entrusted various territories of the planet to transnational corporations to develop and rule. The latter created a special militarized research base called Heavy Duty. The main plot twists take place around a UFO shipwrecked in an accident on this planet.
The stunning game peculiarity is a planet feature – that’s a unique, self-sufficient and realistic world. A player will be able to see mountain ranges, ice caps, feel storms in the atmosphere and…change the landscape influencing the environment by actions just like any person can do on the Earth.
A gamer will encounter Sectoids as main enemies. Before opposing the Man they already suppressed several weaker but still very dangerous civilizations – Scorpids (turned into bio-robots) and Insectoids. Scared so far? If not, you’ll have to face the naked truth – aliens are not so easy to defeat!
Key features:
• A gamer will be a true host on the planet being able to construct housing, technical and defense buildings, manage financial, research and production resources, choose research topics, hire staff and specify projects to study; it’s also possible to make procurement – production tools are eventually increasing in numbers as you receive alien artifacts;
• Trade and relations with corporations are a real helping hand if you want to earn some money or get relevant data! However, these contacts can be significantly impaired as corporations get under aliens’ influence;
• A gamer will deal with several basic combat types: interception (air battles with UFOs), cleansing operations (at the spot of UFO’s wreckage), attacks (liquidation of UFO bases), and defense (protection of constructions);
• Battle mechs’ physics is very beautiful – their motions are so realistic you start believing they’re around you;
• Terramorphing allows formation of landslides and craters which can be changed irreversibly by gamer’s actions.
