WOW Questions

o.k. I have had this game for over a year now and hope some of you may be able to answer some questions for me.

1) I have played of and on since I bought it and have 2 characters at level 23 & 20, but it seems like I am missing the boat here, does it really take that long to get up to 50, 60 or 70?? My daughter has played this thing ALOT since we bought it and she is only at level 32 - It seems like you all level up pretty quickly, is there a trick to this?

2) Keep in mind that I am old but WTH is a "Twink" ????

3) Where are the Portals to Outland? Also I hear that you have to be a Level 58 or above to get there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

there are all sorts of ways of getting levels quickly but i think the fastest anyone has ever done is like 5 days played time, yes 5*24 of actual time in game. most of it questing/grinding. ignoring anything unrelated probably selling basically and not doing professions I imagine, also to do so you must have a significant understanding of where the best places to grind and quest up are.

I would suggest to avoid burnout just enjoy yourself. i have personally burnt out mutliple times with multiple games.

A twink is a character that has superior equipment given by a higher level player, usually you have your main character and your twink whom you support with your main.

Dunno where the portals are but you do have to be very high level to get there.

Thanks for the Info Grife, I know there are some sites that tell you that you can level up quickly for a price but I had to tell my Daughter that it was a scam. She is only 11 by the way. I just hit level 20 with my Human Warlock and finally completed the quest to get the Sucubus Minion. That was pretty tough to do.

I guess the one thing that drives me crazy with this game is you are always running / traveling forever to get where you need to be.

What have you found is the best way to gain experience - quests or areas?

for most lvl's quests are pretty darned good, but there are certain periods that will cramp your style, it just goes to grinding, lvl 30 for Horde for instance, until you get 31 or 32 you will be hard pressed to find quests. You are always best to just crank out as many quests as you can, returning to sell if you fill up but otherwise go for broke and then complete all quests at once.

There are some pretty basic guides out there for free, but they are fewer in number. the pay ones are advertised all over the place. You might look into one of the paper guides for your daughter, kids these days seem to like having a reference for their games, I dont approve of it but its just not my thing.

Travel does pick up when you hit 40 and can buy your mount, but yah travel time is built into these games, and when you dont know good places to go you do end up wasting too much time trying to get there.

I just got my rogue to lvl 35 and i have been playing on and off for just over a month this time around, I played before so i know a few things here and there, my played time is greater than a powerlvler might be but I enjoy the whole game not merely lvling away.

The class quests are good stuff, the poison quests for my rogue were tough but the payoff was great.

Questing is by far the easiest way to gain experience. Generally it is best to go to an area were the quest are a few levels below you. You should be able to easily solo those quests and level very fast that way. I think to hit level 60 it took me around 11 days played, that is actual game played time not 11 days. If you aren't questing and are just killing things you are not leveling efficiently at all.

The portal to outlands does require lvl 58 to enter. You can also get a high level mage to port you to shattarah or get a warlock to summon you there. Before level 58 you won't be able to kill anything there though.
