Battlefield 2

As said in my welcoming post, I just started playing BF2, and from the little experiance that I've gotten from it, it has proven to be insanely fun. Most of the maps are huge, with multiple terrain to fight over.

For the most-part, I play Sniper, Spec Ops, or Assault. With these I can get pretty much anything done. Check me up if you play at all.

www.battlefield2.com btw, for anyone who wants to know more about it. I'm usually on Special Forces maps, but I do play RtJ, Karkand and Dragon Valley.

The image attached is the BFHQ where the stats for your character can be found.

What sux is I only have this for 360. And what a disappointment that was. EA really crapped on its MS verison customers. Are there many issues if any with the PC version?

I have BF2 for pc but without the expansion packs. I never really got into it becasue there was no good games online that I found to be fun, it's usually a bunch of punks. I am not real big on pc FPS games but I really wanted to try this out but never could get into it. If you ever want to play sometime let me know and I will give it a 2nd go who knows maybe with some peeps from PGL it may be entertaining.

BF2 on the PC is a fantastic game if you have the computing power to handle it. The PC version has had its issues too, just like the 360 and Xbox version. For the most part though, EA has actually patched these up.

I've played a few hours with BF2:PC. There's far less voice comm activity than in the 360/Xbox versions and the game is very tactical. Also, for a newb, getting into a game with someone on the other team who can really fly the planes can be a nightmare. Just like the 360 game, while there are a lot of different maps, people tend to play the same ones over and over. It's a great game, but not without issues. Overall, I'd recommend it. It's fun stuff.

If you guys can get it to run on my P4 2.4 Ghz laptop with 64 MB of Video RAM and 1 gig of RAM, sign me up! Think it would work if I dumbed the gfx down hardcore?

most games now a days require 128mb of VRam... most recommend 256mb or more. 1 Gig of ram is acceptable but, 2gb is more ideal for games now a days.

Isn't it amazing how quickly your computer goes out of date!

Here's a pretty cool tool from Micro$oft...

Microsoft Game Advisor

Give it a go! It'll tell you if you can run BF2... I suspect though, Keezles, that you're out of luck on the laptop.

Oh, and a warning... the above link requires IE6. It wouldn't run in my firefox window, (Lol, go figure... ) but I've used it before in Explorer and it ran fine.
