Anyone here playing Guild Wars? I know it's been out quite a while, but I just picked it up this weekend. So far it's been fun even though I have no idea what i'm doing .

I haven't tried it yet, but is this one of the MMO's where there is no monthly fee? I think that's what originally caught my interest, but I can't recall.

It does not have a monthly fee. I have a hard time calling it an MMO as to me it is much more of a Diablo game than an Everquest/WoW game.

hmm... now that sounds interesting. No monthly fee AND its like Diablo. Dangit, now you have me wanting to go out and buy it!! Has it dropped in price? I'll have to check it out next time I'm in the store. Are you digging it?

It hasn't dropped in price unfortunately. There is one "expansion" which can be played without the original and another coming out next month. I don't have the expansion and am just playing the original game for now. I'm certainly having fun with it right now cause you can play by yourself or with others, you do what you want. With no monthly fees I figure I can put it down and always come back at some future point and just play when I want to.

That sounds cool. I've been jonesing for a good Diablo game. The closest I found were the... carp, can't remember the name of them for the Xbox... dang. They were close, but not quite as good. Are there missions in Guild Quest or is it free roaming only?

It's pretty much all quests. You do them to get equipment and xp. Generally they are in a big area that is instanced for you and your group only. There are also some quests where it's more interactive, for example in one you go to a small instanced area and kill everyone + blow up their ships. I'm not sure how many of those type there are since I haven't gotten very far in the game.

Sounds very interesting. Dang, if I get this game I'll have to redo my office computer area. Its not set up for gaming or long term mouse use.
