Jackie Estacado is a mafia hitman for the Franchetti crime family in New York City. He lives a simple life and remains loyal to his family, even though it's being run by his unliked, despicable uncle Paulie. But on his 21st birthday, Jackie makes a discovery about himself that means his life will never be the same. The awesome and terrible powers of The Darkness have awakened inside of him, and now he must learn to fully command these powers to take down Paulie and regain control of the Franchetti family. Guide Jackie on his quest through the dark and seedy underbelly of New York City and the ethereal realm of The Darkness in this first-person horror adventure game based on the comic book The Darkness.

Next-generation graphics allow for advanced voice synching and facial animations. Delve into the fully interactive environments as you summon and command an army of Darklings, impish demonites with rotten senses of humor and a taste for committing unspeakable acts. As you learn to control the powers of The Darkness, you'll be able to devour, impale and implode your enemies. When you need to recharge, just slip into the shadows, as the absence of light feeds and replenishes your sinister powers. Discover the wealth of traditional and innovative online multiplayer modes through Xbox Live.

Hey, you got mobsters in my demons, you got demons in my mobsters. And the fun of the Darkness begins. Some amazing visuals, great story, dark, violent and gritty. However, I am curious as to why New York neighborhoods are so vacant? Shouldn't there be more people around? That and the multiplayer were my only complaint. Please don't tack on multiplayer, I hate that as much as I hate tacking on single player.
