| PS3 MotorStorm Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc.
Developer: Evolution Studios
Platform: PLAYSTATION?3 system
Genre: Racing
Rating: ?RP? for Rating Pending OVERVIEW
Developed by Evolution Studios, MotorStorm? is a brutal, no-holds-barred offroad racing game created exclusively for the PLAYSTATION?3 system. Set in the fictitious desert environment of Monument Valley, MotorStorm takes full advantage of the processing power of the PS3? system to deliver an extreme racing event where the goal is to not only win, but to survive.
In the game, players will descend upon the MotorStorm Festival, a celebration of the alternative and extreme offroad racing culture. Throwing caution to the wind, players will take on a variety of racing fanatics and battle through chaotic, action-packed tracks to try and become the Festival champ.
Capitalizing on its pedigree in offroad racing, Evolution Studios has created a true next-generation gameplay experience that features smarter and more aggressive artificial intelligence (AI), real-time track deformation, fully destructible vehicles and environments, and stunningly detailed scenery. Tapping into the power of the PLAYSTATION 3 system, MotorStorm will showcase cinematic effects such as motion blur, depth-of-field, and Hollywood-style ?crash cams? that replay spectacular crash sequences during a race. KEY FEATURES
? Attacking and Offensive Driving ? Players must not only try to win the race but survive against the other racers. Combat-like racing takes center stage as the vehicles are the weapons.
? Stunning Environments ? MotorStorm features amazing scenic environments that capture some of America?s most recognizable desert landmarks with wide-open plains, harrowing cliff edges, and tight canyon sections.
? Cutting-Edge Artificial Intelligence ? The A.I. will be able to analyze the race and surroundings and react in the most realistic manner possible. Not only will the competition try to win the race at all costs, but the A.I. will react to situations realistically, such as locating the best routes and changing the level of driving aggression based on player actions.
? Real-time Track Deformation ? Players will never experience the same track twice as each vehicle will carve up the track in varying depths, making navigation of each lap different than the last.
? Real-time Audio Manipulation ? An entirely new in-game music experience where echo and reverb are filtered in, delivering a unique ?live? music experience during each race.
? Physics-Based Car Damage ? Players will break and destroy a vehicle?s parts and panels during collisions with other drivers as well as the environment.
? PLAYSTATION?3 system ? Greater processing power on the PS3 system and Blu-ray technology enables more immersive visuals and sound effects in MotorStorm, heightening the chaos within each brutal race environment.

I guess it really depends the mood I'm in, sometimes I think it'sZelda, but part of Nintendo has pissed me off with Zelda and no HD and no choice in control scheme for the Wii version yet no 16x9 for the cube version as well as the intentional delay on the cube version. Ok that's for another topic..
Well, to me this looks to be the most fun in a off road racing game.

Metroid Prime 1,2 are not widescreen games yet are 480p. There are some others as well, just can't think of them off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure some xbox games as well like Halo:CE, etc are not widescreen yet support 480p as well as PS2 games.
I think only 720p and 1080i are technically widescreen by default (though the rare exception of something like Soul Calibur 2 on the xbox being 4x3, it is still sending a 16x9 signal to the set, just passing black screen information for the sides)

I really wish they charged more for it to have a bit more graphical power along with the controls. I understand their decision though, just not happy with it. I want both better graphics and new ways to play.

| I just want better graphics! I mean, how is it they can pass Call of Duty 3 off on Wii with gamecube graphics?! That's just appauling!!
I already have a gamecube, I don't need another system with those same graphics and a different controller!

They also ask "why not just get that controller working with the GC and not bother with the wii".
Its also why a lot of people think this is a stop gap and a real next gen console from the Big N is due out in 3 short years. Sounds iffy but ya never know anymore

| but, the problem I have is that Nintendo's next-gen console will compete with the 360 and PS3 and by then MS and Sony will already have the Xbox 720 and PS4.
I dunno, they've always been one step behind when it comes to graphics. Their apps have made up for it in huge amounts but, at this point, especially in the HD era, you cannot pass it up as if it means nothing.
