Analyst: LittleBigPlanet A PS3 System-Seller

Possibly due to the PlayStation Home delay, LittleBigPlanet has been flying fairly low under the radar over the past few months. However, those who have seen the videos and demos are well aware of this "little-big" game's potential, and it seems one analyst believes it can be a true-blue system seller.

"I can't say enough positive things about Little Big Planet," Pachter told Gamasutra. "There were looks of delight on the faces of the people playing it and people watching it in Tokyo. It looks like a genre-defining game [with] the potential to move consoles."

People certainly had fun playing that demo, that's for sure. It's one of those games that isn't restricted by age or even personal style boundaries; it should be genuine fun for just about everyone. When it first popped up at the Game Developers Conference this past March, journalists couldn't stop saying good things about the game. In fact, BBC technology editor Darren Waters said, "LittleBigPlanet is perhaps one of the most dazzling demos I've seen in the last 10 years."

No, it's not a blockbuster FPS like Halo, legendary sports title like Madden, or an epic RPG like Final Fantasy, but this little platformer has a big heart (okay, we'll stop with the puns now). In a nutshell, LittleBigPlanet lets you create your own levels for sharing on the PlayStation Network, and four players will cooperate to conquer that level. We expect to see a demo later this year, and the final product should arrive in early 2008. But in the meantime, refresh yourself with the E3 2007 trailer.

I don't know what makes this 'game' so fun, but it IS fun and I am eagerly awaiting its arrival. I guess I'll have to buy another controller so my son and I can play together. He'll probably be bitch slapping me all over the map tho!

I'm still not sure what the point of the game is but it looks fun.
