I recently purchased Podspider to DL my podcasts. Podspider works pretty well, however, it seems to drop my feeds randomly--which is a total pain. Also, I still needed to use the Zune desktop to sync the files to my device.
So on a hunch I started messing with the RSS Feed tab under favorites.
I went to the website that hosts my favorite podcast and found the page with the links to the podcasts. I then clicked on the "lit" rss icon and hit the link to subscribe.
Then I opened my feed tab under favorites, right clicked on the feed and selected properties.
In the window that pops, check the box next to "automatically download attached files."
I played with my settings and decreased the intervals, and waited. Then I reopened the window and hit the button to view files...sure enough my podcast was in there and drag-able for syncing...
You could mess with your zune library settings to automate the process even futher.
I am still experimenting and playing with this feature, so I don't have much more to offer at this point.
I am not sure how old this news is, but I love figuring things like this out!!
