Ipod and 360 Help?
Back in early April I was playing my ipod through the 360, I tried it again last week and now it doesn't even see the ipod... I tried it on a friends 360 and we got the same thing. I found the new download in the market place and that was useless after following the directions explicitly several times.
Anyone else having any problems or could it be an update for the zune that killed it? I have a fifth gen 60 gig with video and I also tried the nano just to see if it was my ipod that was screwed up, I also tried a different cable as well.
Any suggestions would help, I like to game to my own music and burning a CD to copy to the HD seems like a waste when I have so much music in my ipod to choose from.
Thanks!

I could go through the PC, but it sounds better through the surround sound and I use it in game as well so I can hear both at the same time. It was kind of nice having the ipod play as a stand alone as well with the remote I didn't have to go back and pick songs manually as well.

Sorry, I didn't get that the first time. Not possible they are in different rooms. The 360 is part of the TV and entertainment system, PC is in the den for study. I'm just looking to see if anyone else is able to still connect the ipod and play through the 360?

The 360 is on a cable modem and the PCs all use a DSL network. No phone line in living room for connection.

What up! I think that I a lot of us stream our music wirelessly to our 360's or PS3's...so I haven't had this particular issue.
However, if the ipod patch that you downloaded from the marketplace didn't work I would suggest removing your HD from your 360 and try plugging in the ipod direct to see if there is something going on there.
If the ipod was recognized and the music was unplayable I would say that it was a DRM issue.
Also have you reformatted your ipod since you last used it?
Are you using the same cable and does this cable work when you hook your ipod up to your computer?
Sorry, if I can't be of more help...I own a Zune....

It doesn't even see the ipod or the nano?? I tried a second cable, both work on the computer but not on the 360. I haven't formatted the ipod sense April when I last connected it. The blade that shows the MP3 Music connection just shows as nothing is connected, I've searched the xbox.com forums for support and I got the same information for the download.
Thanks for the suggestions so far, I just want to plug and play my music through the ipod, I'll try and strip and format the ipod and see if I can get the latest update for ipod and try that to see if that works for now, just pisses me off that every time they update to make things better something else don't work. I stayed away from the zume because the ipod has had 6 generations now and the zune will have its updates and improvements coming out soon as well. They may even make it into a phone one day... LOL

Both mine work just fine. So I don't really have any suggestions.
Actually, tried plugging something else in to see if it's the port acting up?
That's the only other thing I can think of.

Naw the bill for DSL is paid for by my son and that way we don't get any lag from downloading and playing at the same time. Works out better in the long run and we also run the Wii off it as well. One is a good backup for the other just in case as well. The service out here for DSL is cheap and sucks as everything (wiring) is old out here in the Pacific North West.... Now Satellite Internet is expensive if you want to talk about money! The install starts at 500 bucks out here!
I've already been down the wireless road and learned my lesson on lag, drag and piss poor connections. I have a box of wireless crap that I keep to remind me no to go down that road again!
Thanks for trying though... the computers and 360 are 3 rooms (Other side of the house) apart as well and would be more work than the music is worth to wire up together.
