Zune Mounting?

How are you guys mounting your Zunes...

NO! You freaking pervs...how are you mouting your Zunes in your vehicles?

I have looked all over the place for a flex dock so I made something to get me through...a little rough right now...but I just slapped this together with PVC and a generic $20 mount from Frys:

P.S. how do you like these 40 megapixel images taken by my Treo?

Unfortunately no...that is one of a few flaws with what I made...but I have twisted my head sideways a few times....

I have been holding it in my hand to watch vids with it still plugged into my system for surround sound.

I think that it is a little safer this way because now I only play vids when I am parked. It is also nice because I can hold the device a little closer to my mug.

Glad that you like it though. Very simple to set up using PVC pipe (1/2 inch), PVC T an end cap, and a coupling. I am using a threaded adapter because the T that I had laying around was threaded.

I screwed the pieces into a pop out switch cover on my console then popped the whole assembly in. I like the PVC T because it alows for vert adjustment of the generic mp3 mount. Plus I can pop out the mount and use it as an RF transmitter when in another vehicle.

That is my shifter for 4x4...so if I offroad I just need to give it a little reach around to kick it inot 4L or 4H....

This one is super easy to do.

I open my ash tray and the Zune fits there perfectly, when horizontal. I have one of those silicone Zune condoms on it, so it doesn't slide around. At one point, I was going to get the FM transmitter, but I ended up getting the PC bus attachment for my stereo that gave it an audio input cord that I simply plug into the Zune's headphone jack. This would also come in handy if I wanted sound from my laptop or someone else's mp3 player, instead of being specific to the Zune. I like ripping concert DVDs to the Zune. It's a good fit for the car.

Yeah I had mine in my drink holders and I also plug mine in direct...but I like sticking my phone in the forward holder and my bottle of 151 in the other drink holder.....no ashtray in the FJ...so I had to quit smoking meth...at least when am driving.

How do you like the Zune condom?

Big fan. The first one I had was for my Creative Zen Micro and it sold me on the product line. It has no screen protector, but it has enough of a lip on the screen surround that nothing has gotten to my screen. It's actual factual name is Jam Jacket, but I prefer Zune condom. Oddly enough, I have now started calling condoms jam jackets...
