Hello form a New Zune Fornicator...ooops I mean lover

I am in love with my Zune. I regularly quote lyrics to it from the NIN song Closer....

Per my usual M.O. I spent about 2 months debating the purchase and calling Peench...mostly to irritate him, but also partially compelled by my O.C.D....among other things...but mainly to try to irritate him.

Back to my intial topic however.

Thanks for all the info that we posted here regarding this device....despite dire warnings...Tunebite is currently running quietly in the background as I lovingly embrace the Zune Marketplace....

However, I am left with that inextricable pain of desire, impolitely dubbed blue balls by the uncouth, by the fact that half of the crap I am looking for is not available for download. Is it just me or do you feel like a virgin at a strip club with quarters and no dollar bills...wtf...why show me the goods if I can't get sum????

I have been wanting one of these for quite some time and I hope that we keep posting regarding this device...with one exception: Keezy will you please get your shirt together? J.K........I love you almost as much as I love my Zune...

I got a call about every 3 minutes while Rhino was setting up his Zune. He kept apologizing and I said "no worries bro, I did the same thing to Crippler when I was setting up mine!"

I think he's talking about the fact that the marketplace doesn't offer for download thru the subscription all of the songs/artists he's looking for. I noticed that with a few artists, but overall was able to grab a bunch of cool old and new stuff to check out.

Glad you finally made a damn decision and bought something. Your pr0n will look great on your new Zune. Just make sure you wrap it in celoph... alright, I won't go there.

And I want to see a pic - not of you zunesexin', but just of your new zune.

Ive never even logged on to the Zune Marketplace. I have about 30k songs collected from friends and family over the years.

Oh, I found a huge pain with the Zune. The first computer you sync your Zune with is the ONLY one it can sync with. If that computer dies or you reinstall the OS, you will have to delete all content on your Zune before you can start syncing your Zune with it.

So now I have to watch like 20 shows before I can delete the other 20 on there and add more. Suck. So dont plan on using your Zune for storage I guess. Unless someone knows a way around this...

Welcome aboard Rhino. The Zune rocks.

The initial PC will be the 'Home' for your Zune. This is where you can auto sync and have the Zune be a constant mirror of your PC's media. Personally, I turn auto sync off. Syncing to other PCs is quite easy. Just sync the Zune as a 'Guest'. You can sync, delete, create playlists, etc from any PC. Just install the software. I actually use my work PC more for my Zune than home.

There is a trick to assigning the Zune a new home too. I have reinstalled the Zune software and was able to reassign my Zune to it easily w/out wiping it clean.

Every time I've had to reinstall the software, it made me wipe it. What's your secret? I just need to get tunebite, b/c I think DRM is the reason for a lot of my troubles.

Rhino, my Zune exploded and battery acid spilled all over me today. Enjoy

I didn't have to do that with mine. I kept my content and just resynced with the music files after I did a fresh Vista install. I had no problems. I deleted nothing from my Zune. I didn't go through any special process. I just told it which folders to monitor. Which are my exact same folders since I use an NAS drive for all my Zune content. It did have to go through all the folders agin which took time but nothing was ever deleted from my Zune. Even content that is only onmy Zune is still there.
Maybe I got lucky.

Thanks Crip for the link. I'll give it another try tonight when I get home. Does anyone know if video files on a Zune can be pulled off without deleting them?

Just sync them back to the PC. Go to the content on your Zune and drag and drop the file into the right pane. It will copy it to the PC in a reverse style sync.
