Zunes rock. I totally love mine. Couldn't imagine going a day w/out it now actually. Video totally rocks on this thing. The sound quality of music is top notch also.

I thought the same thing MadB, but Crippler mentioned they are just trying to get rid of the "old" colors to make room for the new colors or something like this.

I think the extra $30 is ALMOST justified by the fact that it comes pre-loaded with 3 CDs worth of Halo music, and then some other movies and pictures. What's also fun is that I can trade in games towards the price.

Are MP3's, Ipods, and Zunes all MP3's?

The way I thought of it was - MP3 equals soda and Ipods and Zunes are like Coke or Pepsi. Their just brands that go under MP3 right?

MP3 is the english system. AAC is metric. Don't use either. All my music is in GIF files. You'll get better sound that way.

Correct, Lets make it more simple, Mp3's are like socks (Music you listen too) And The MP3 PLAYERS are like shoes (Ipod, Zune, Rca, Sony, Archos, Creative, Sansa, Dell Etc....)

Ipod is like Nike ITs High named brand , Zune is Reebok Its the Competitor of Nike. Then you got the Others That are not AS Famous as these 2 But Some people, including me, like these better.

Archos and Creative is like Adidas and Fila, Sansa is a Puma, Rca is a K-swiss.

I like My Archos and it rocks Harder than your Microsoft Zune. At least my screen is Huge plus its a DVR!

Ive had a Rca Lyra, Archos Jukebox, Creative zEN, Archos Gmini, Dell Jukebox (Got bought out by Creative), Another Creative zEN, and Finally my Archos AV420 DVR.

I don't use MP3s. In the mid 90's I used Minidisc and I tried out some MP3s in the late 90's but never liked how it sounded. Then I listened to WMA music and it sounded as good as minidisc but took less space than MP3s. SO now I have 600+ CDs all in Lossless WMA(for home use) and also 128kbs WMA(for portable use).
I usually refer to my portable players as WMA players. Never MP3 players.

I either read or heard a story recently. Apparently Sandisk's MP3 players are 2nd to iPod. Crazy.

http://www.dapreview.net/e107_plugin...?content.181.1 certainly a differant animal and its a favorable review but I started to read some stuff about needing to convert all the video cause it support only a couple codecs and the audio was a little I could see myself getting one for the video for traveling and such but as a daily audio player I'll stick with my Zune

A BIG draw towards the Zune for me is the Zune pass. It mentions that some music on the Zune Marketplace can only be downloaded by purchasing it, aka not available through the Zune pass. How often does this happen, and is there any trend behind what songs they do this to (popular songs, big singles from the album, etc)?

I found only a few of the artists that I was interested in had restrictions, but it was certainly the exception and not the rule. There were a few that had certain tracks on certain albums and others that had entire albums not available. Overall, however, most everything I was interested in checking out was available.
