Well, I grabbed the last two white Zune's at my local Target, and they were 50% off! $124.98 each! Since Peench posted first, he got one and I got the other. They still have a ton of brown units at $175, and these may go down to $125 in the next week or so.
It was crazy deal though. I walk back to the mp3 player section in the electronics section, and there was a crowd of people standing around. I look and see the glass case where last night contained dozens of ipods was smashed, and the shelf was empty! Oh uh! They had the yellow crime scene tape out and everything. Luckily the Zune case untouched. (I guess we now know where the black market stands on the ipod vs Zune battle!)
So I push my way through and verify that there were still Zune's available, and I now note that there were two whites ones left, and they were only $125, rather then the $175 like the others. So I ask a gawking employee if she could open the case so I could get a Zune. As she bends down to open the case, she notes that they are on clearance. She starts asking her co-workers when had this happened, as she wanted to get a white one for herself. At this point, I tell her I need two, the last two!
She was obviously pissed and was grumbling about me getting both. I was like, hey, you work here, you should have seen the price dropping. She informed me that she was off work yesterday and didn't realize the price had changed. I was like sorry Charlie! Oh, and then she got glass inside her shoe! She refused to even ring me up and made me wait for the other clerk while she was complaining about what happened to HER Zune.
At this point, I give Peench a quick call to verify his interest and see if he wanted any accessories, which were also 30% to 50% off. So we both got an extra charger, and he got a case. All this while I was standing in the middles of the Target securities CSI efforts. I was like, my finger prints are all over this stuff, but I already have an ipod! They were jolly. I was thinking an inside job, but they didn't think so.
Anyway, hopefully these things are cool enough. I am thinking about just using it for video and photos, and stick with my Nano for music.
