My sister's first professional Jazz CD

For the jazz fans out there looking for a new CD to listen to ...

My sister released her first album last week on 4/5/07 in Chicago. It's a self-titled CD called Senor Fox Trio +2. She started the jazz trio and recruited the +2 musicians for this first disc. I've listened to the pre-studio cut and it is good. You can listen to bits of the music at http://www.cdbaby.com.

The album will be distributed via other places very soon.

If you're into jazz, give the CD a listen, and even better, a purchase. Though I am very much the proud older brother, I think that music lovers will appreciate my sister's ability, as well as that of her band mates. It goes without saying that I'm very excited for my little sister.

I will definitely do so, and thank you for the support.

I know the CD can be purchased through CD Baby currently and may be available at F.Y.E. soon. I'm also hoping she's worked on a digital distribution deal with CD Baby, because if so the music will eventually be available at all major music download sites including iTunes, eMusic, et cetera.

No prob man, I really enjoyed the sound and still listen to those tracks. I had trouble accessing the tracks on that site so whenever you learn about where else I can have a listen I would appreciate it.

I'll let everyone know when CD Baby has the CD back in stock and when other retailers get their hands on some stock, as well as when the music is available for download at major eTailers such as iTunes, eMusic and the like.

Just listened to the tracks, and really enjoyed what I heard. I've been on a huge Jazz kick lately, as it seems to help fuel my writing.

So when this thing is available again, definitely let us know, Cory. I'd love to pick it up.

Thanks Jason, I know she'll appreciate that. And thank you again to everyone on PGL that has checked out the album on CD Baby. CD Baby provides very good metrics to the artists they work with and my sister was telling me that CD Baby has received a very high number of hits from PGL - you guys rock!!!

I talked to her earlier this morning and it turns out that CD Baby contacted them the day after their CD was available on their website (it became available Friday evening and the copies they had sold out the next morning, about the time I posted originally it would appear). Apparently they've received quite a few "email me when it's available" requests, so that's encouraging. CD Baby has requested another batch of them which should be in their hands hopefully before the week ends.

I also got word that the tracks will be available on iTunes, eMusic and pretty much all major Digital Distribution retail sites sometime in the near future. So, if downloading the music to your computer for play on portable audio devices is your thing, that too will eventually be an option. But for now, the quickest way to get your hands on it is through CD Baby and also hopefully soon through the http://www.senorfoxtrio.com website. The website is actually in somewhat of a transition now as well.

All that said - thanks again to all of you. I couldn't be more excited for her because she's doing what she loves and I wish her all the success she cares to have.

Am I the only person who's computer can't figure out what to do with the m3u files on CD Baby? I can't listen to any of the tracks.

I'm itching to get my listen on!!

They open up in iTunes for me, so I'm not sure what you could do to solve the problem.

I am of course assuming that you tried the iTunes route.
