There was an update on 3/28/07 to FW & software version 1.3.
From ZuneInsider: Quote:
Just to recap, here’s what’s in the update:- We’re fixing the skipping problem that some users were experiencing – that is, content acquired from Zune Marketplace will no longer skip when played on the device.
- Improved device and software reliability, when it comes to device detection, and improved sync'ing.
- We’ve made some changes to the FM Tuner so it no longer drains the battery when in sleep mode.
A few odds and ends: it shouldn’t be a surprise to folks that we are going to continue looking for ways to add to or improve the Zune software. It remains the team’s priority to make sure whichever Zune device you choose to buy - now or in the future – you’ll be able to update your Zune - and benefit from new features, improvements, etc. For more background, I talked a bit about this with James a while back.
| Not a big update as some would of liked, like adding more features, but one that had to take place to lock down a few issues. I have noticed that the menus respond faster when scrolling through all of my media. FFW and RWing videos is also much smoother too. The Zune software seems to be less of a hog to too. To get the FW update, if the software doesn't prompt you when you sync your Zune, follow these steps: Click Options, point to Sync, point to , and then click Check for Zune Device Updates. | |

The Zune is a great piece of hardware. Sound quality and video is much better than an iPood. I just wish they would hurry up and get some new features out and open up the wireless already. Let me connect to a network and stream internet radio. | |

| Thanks for the info Crippler. I'm still toying with the idea. But when I broke it down I have at least 5 other MP3 players so I'm torn as to whether I want to spend the money for another one. | |

| I should totally do that. I'm simply too busy these days to go thru all the hassle. | |

| Would you buy one from PGL if we offered you a discount? We have them available from our distributor. | |

By far my favorite of the mp3 players that I have owned. I got one on launch day and it has been very good to me. Easy to navigate, great video quality and I like the FM tuner and how it picks up the station, artist and song title. Nice for when you hear a song and don't know who/what it is.

| Been tossing around ideas of offering discounted items to PGL members. Right now the distributor we have an agreement with doesn't offer the best discounts on too many things, but some things are decently discounted. They won't be fire sale prices, but a discount is a discount eh? Since there appears to be some interest in the Zune at least I'll start setting things up here on our end. Look for some new stuff here to that end.
Sorry for the Keezy. | |
