| ActiveSync is killing my battery softly I finally got most of my personal contacts updated, organized, and imported into folders on my computer at work.
So I hit the little virtual switch and watched as my contacts were deleted and recreated.
A few issues with duplicates ensued, but with minimal effort I got everything sorted out.
A few items of interest:
Make sure that the way your contacts are organized and displayed are congrous in both Outlook and on the iPhone.
Make folders they appear in the contacts groups. So if you want a personal contacts list for friends, family, and your local voodoo doctor it is possible to organize them. I also made a new folder for buisness that I call for non-biz related functions (places to eat, etc).
While I was editing contacts I noticed that my battery life was really impacted. So if you are editing large batches of contacts or doing mass imports, know that it will affect your battery on the iPhone.
So far I have noticed some lagginess when checking contacts. Not a big deal.
The biggest concern is that it looks like my battery life has a new worst enemy. I was ok with performance to date. But this looks like it may be the pacman of the 3g...I would hate to have to drop active sync... |
